Hello Escapist, Redlin here.

Do you have natural light coming into your room? How often? Why do you like it or don't like it?

That's the thread.

Have fun :)

[sub]Personally I don't have the blinds open in my room. I already get lots of sun.[/sub]

I have a large window, maybe 5 x 6 feet, on one wall of my room. I keep a blackout curtain over it constantly, because I hate natural light and I like to be able to control the light level in my room.

I don't like it much for myself, but my kittens like to stare out the window so I'll open the blinds for their benefit. Always closed when I go to sleep though.

My room is the basement of my folks' place and it doesn't have windows, but it is around twice the size of my previous room that had windows. I do believe that more space is better than no natural light, except for what shines down the stairway.

There is a large tree just outside my window so unfortunately not a lot of light gets into my room so once the sun starts to set I have to turn on the light. I would rather have natural over turning the light on.

It's healthy to have light coming in so yes, all the time. I always close it when I go to sleep or it becomes dark though.

Eep I can't stand not having natural light in my room, I'm surprised to see other people think differently. I feel a little claustrophobic without it.

They are closed, but then again my eyes are overly sensitive to the light. Enough so that I get migraines from being out in direct sunlight for to long (to long being the entire day). I have to wear sunglasses or at least those transitions glasses.

Not the worst physical problem someone can have.

I have a thick curtain that goes across half of my window to shield the monitor from glare but apart from that the blinds are always open.

I've got two fairly large windows right behind my desk, so my work area is always well illuminated. I can't really see anything out of my windows, which is a pity, but at least it helps me figure out if it's going to rain or not.

I have it come in during the day, but during the night i had the moon light and a street light that was put on the property line twbeen my neighbor and I. So it would streak across my room, which was awesome cause hwen I was a litttle kid I never had to fear the dark.

But now that I have a new room (we moved me to a smaller one cause I went to college), I have this other street light light htat comes in and is that sickly yellow orange color that just bothers me. Plus what the neighbor's house puts off since their window is almost exactly on level to mine and hase hte same dimensions. Its a little higher, so it comes down. a nd the have one thats lower that comes up. and that just bothers me.

I have my blinds just lifted up enough for my cat to look outside, my window faces east and I hate the morning light. If I stay up til sunrise it blinds me when I'm trying to go to sleep. If I wake up early it makes a terrible glare on my PC and it slowly moves around my room til it hits the TV that doesn't disappear til the afternoon.

With my windows turned the way they are, its not much natural light that I get, but I have a bright colored room to compensate...

Yeah quite often, as my window is pretty big. I do keep a white cover over it at all times because my window looks out on a busy street. I like my privacy thank you very much. Makes my room look a little hazy but meh, at least it doesn't make me feel like a hermit.

I sometimes close the blinds though, when I don't want the friggin' sun reflecting in my screen. Makes spotting enemies a pain in the ass in BC2, stuff like that.

I sealed up my windows using industrial white paint. Natural light cannot penetrate it.

The reason for this is I enjoy being in impossible dark sometimes. I have a window slid open when I'm on my PC(mostly) for the benefit for my eyes and mood - being in the dark all the time fucks with your head.

Sometimes but I never really think to open the blinds during the day especially right now when there is only an hour and half of daylight left when I get home from school.

I have my blinds shut most of the time but when they aren't I have a large, transculent Italian flag in front of the window.
