I am planning to buy a new PC controller and do not whether I should get a PS3 or 360 controller.

which is the better option?
yeah I tried looking for them and apparently MS stopped producing them.Megacherv said:360 controllerhenritje said:I,m planning to buy a sturdy controller for my PC meaning I can either pick out of a wired 360 controller or hooking a PS3 controller up to my PC using a minibus

PS3 controller requires some fucking around with and installing 3rd party drivers, but does allow for Bluetooth connection. I personally use a 360 wireless controller with Microsoft's Crossfire adaptor, which can be a bit hard to find.

And even if the Xbox controller doesn't work with whatever game you're playing, a program called Xpadder will work. I use it with emulation.devotedsniper said:360 hands down, most games set the buttons automatically for you, works pretty much straight away no issues at all and ive been using a wired one for 4 years.
I've tried a few Madcatz controllers, N64 and Gamecube. The N64 one worked for a few months, then gave up completely. The Gamecube one stopped working after a week. Sound like either good luck for you or bad luck for me. I mostly avoid them because the price difference isn't worth the potential annoyance of returning it.Owyn_Merrilin said:I can vouch that the wired 360 controller that Madcatz makes is well built and a lot less expensive than an official controller. It's also got a much better D-pad, so if you play a lot of 2d platformers or fighting games, you might want to keep that in mind. Honestly, I've never understood why Madcatz has such a bad name. Everything I've bought from them was as good or better than the official product -- it's just that sometimes, the official product wasn't very good either *cough*N64controllerbuildquality*cough*Gameboycolorlightandmagnifiers*cough*.
It may be just that they aren't good at making nintendo products. I've got a Madcatz PS1 controller from 2004 that still works like a charm, and the Xbox controller is something that I've had since Christmas, again with no sign of stopping, despite being put through a fair bit of abuse. The only Madcatz product I've had that wasn't excellence incarnate was a light and magnifier for the Gameboy Color, which didn't work, but then none of the light and magnifiers that were made for that system worked. The only hand held screen magnifiers that I've seen that were worth anything were for backlit systems -- specifically the Game Gear and the Gameboy Advance SP. On front lit systems, the things just wind up blocking out more light than they provide.I.N.producer said:I've tried a few Madcatz controllers, N64 and Gamecube. OT: I use a wired Xbox 360 controller for many of my games, partly because setup amounts to running an installation .exe and plugging it in. I mostly got the wired model because I didn't want to buy an adapter, and some slight cable management doesn't bother me much.
Plus, if I'm going to buy a wireless adapter for my PC, it probably won't be for a proprietary wireless setup that I'll only use for one controller. Especially when wireless amounts to a $50+ controller.
