Okay. My friends have continuously told me to purchase a CoD game. I've resisted for some time, but every man has his breaking point. First I was thinking Black Ops, but after hearing about the PS3 version sucking hardcore compared to the Xbox version, (I'm on PS3 btw) I became quite nervous as I have pretty high standards.

I looked at MW2 as well and played the demo for it. I REALLY didn't like it. The biggest problem I had was that I was wrestling with the game over control. The game auto-tracks enemies and going to the options and turning aim assist off doesn't do anything. So I came here to ask if this is just a bug in the demo and I can turn off the auto tracking in the full game or not. If not, then does it persist in multiplayer too? This kind of auto-aiming is unbearable for me, so this is a game breaking issue.

Also, if it is not a bug, does black ops have the same problem? My choices are limited to these two unfortunately as I would like to play with my friends online.

Blacks Ops is probably the better of the two for multiplayer. Especially offline multiplayer. Treyarch almost made a perfect offline multiplayer, but I guess making perfect offline multiplayer would cause the universe to implode or something. As for online, the community for MW2 is more advanced that Black Ops, so you'll see a bunch of 10th prestiges running around.

It also has the option to use bots in semi-online practice. I don't know why one would need an internet connection, but that's Treyarch for you. Implementing little things to make your experience, almost, but not quite perfect.

If co-op is your thing, it comes down to whether your prefer shooting zombies or terrorists. A lot of people for some reason really enjoy zombie mode in Black Ops, and a lot of other people enjoy spec ops in MW2. I'm indifferent to Spec Ops, but zombie mode bores the crap out of me. JFK is funny for a while, but eventually it just starts to drone on.

Both have crappy connection.

Single player mode comes down to preference in story. Do you want to be Soap, the SAS taking on the world, or a CIA operative with codes burned into his skull? Also, I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but be on the look out for Ben Stiller as he appeared in Tropic Thunder in Black Ops in the Vietnam level.

In Blops, the gun more points in the direction of an enemy rather than aiming for you.

This is incredibly annoying when playing the console version and jumping over those crawler-like zombies in... zombie mode; the cursor automatically makes me look at them, which can cause confusion and (inevitably) death.

I don't know if it is a problem or not in the console ones, it wasn't my copy of Blops, I own the PC version.

EDIT: I like the two immensely (sue me), but I prefer Blops.

On BLOPS, the hitregistration is TERRIBLE, no footstep sound effect, and LOTS of campers, i reccomend Battlefield bad company 2, or wait for Homefront
