Neighbours, we (I presume) all have them, but do we like them or even make any contact with them?

At my old address it was a very neighbourly area we all got along and met regularly for a BBQ, a drink or just to use their swimming pool. Now at this address which I've been for a few years none of us have made any real contact and they've made none with us but it's not just us it seems no one around here talks to their neighbours.

How's your area? Do you get on with your neighbours or have you never properly met them? Maybe you met them once and they were in fact arseholes.

I don't really talk to them. My old neighbors were known for 2 things by my family. They would always borrow our plunger, and they shot at us once.

We get on with the neighbours on one side of us but not the other at home. The guy we don't get on with is a total prick, he cut down the hedge between our back gardens, so now he has a completely unobstructed view into our kitchen an computer room and refused to put up a fence so my parents had to shell out on their own. Before the fence went up his dog would come over into out garden and shit on the grass, when my mum caught it at it and chased it away he started yelling at her for chasing his dog. I just happened to be home that weekend so I went to defend her and he threatened to attack me. The guy is a nutter.

ah I got alright neighbors. There is a crazy soccer mom right behind me though, she always gossips and never knows when to shut the fuck up. spoils her kids to the point of no return. They asked for a pool. THEY GOT A INGROUND BIG AS HELL POOL, so now when they are out screaming me and my friends go out and yell this. "SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU STUPID LITTLE BASTARDS!". Then we got a drunk be he isn't to bad.

Most of my neighbors are never around. You see im surrounded by summer homes for the wealthy. Which is nice since they never complain about noise when i do host a box social here.
Sounds like a heavenly neighbourhood to be in.

My neighbors to the right have a pitbull capable of opening doors.
As such, the only logical thing to do is to never lock your doors and let him get out as he wishes.

My other neighbors have class, and they don't annoy me too much. Provided they stay their distance.

I envy you, my friend.

I haven't spoken with any of my new neighbors since they've moved in. I've no real desire to do so either. *Shrug*

I have plenty of Neighbours, just never really spoken to them. They all have kids to, it's just that they're to young to hang out with. There use to be a family, who my parents were good friends with, but they moved away, so now we don't really talk to anyone.

My neighbour in my home town for many years was an absolutely awesome guy until he passed away. My neighbours in the apartment were noisy as hell but really cool people. I haven't met my neighbours in my current city and I most likely won't.

I have them, and they're pretty awesome. ^_^

Also, did anyone else come into this thread expecting something completely different? o_O

I have no neighbours (thank you, bing, for the spelling). There are people on my road, but they're pretty far away. As in, can't see them distance. They seem like nice people, but every once in awhile there'll be an incredible amount of gunfire coming from the direction of their house, I still don't know why.

They also have very pretty horses, although whenever my dog gets out thats where she goes.

My neighbors let me use their lawnmower as long as I mow their lawn. They're also not bad looking. We go to the bars and clubs from time to time. My other neighbors have a hot tub, so I'm trying to get to know them.

When I was in an apartment, the people above me had a 2 year old that would run around every morning and I guess her dad was playing with her. It was so loud. I would throw tennis balls at the ceiling sometimes, but overall I thought it was at least good that the dad was involved in the kid's life. Also, his wife was very a very attractive latina. He and I spoke only once, when he tried to recruit me into the army as I was leaving for class. I told him I'm a pacifist and just cannot join the armed forces, though I do support those who do (at least for noble reasons).

We're on pretty good terms with our neighbors here. During the summer we all gather at somebody's house and light fires, sit around late into the night and tell stories. It's a good time.

I live in terraced town housing so have neighbours on both sides. We don't have a tremendous amount of contact with them as we don't have a lot in common (proximity as grounds for friendship always seems odd to me) but we are on good terms and do the Christmas card thing.

Neighbours on the left did have a fire alarm that sounded non stop for 3 days (until I was all but mad for the persistent sound) and they had not left contact details or a key with anyone. They have since apologised profusely and sworn that it will not happen again. Seems fair enough and the most neighbourly thing to do.

I don't want to socialise with them though.

years ago when I lived with my parents one of the "neighbours" (who were actually living opposite) caused so much shit that we had to take them to court and get an order that controlled their behaviour.
