This thread is for a number of reasons. To discuss with others who dream of having their friends play their wickedly rad games, to propose a forum idea, and to maybe have a sort of 'looking for artist/writer' thing going.

I wonder if it will be a good idea to have a forum section called 'User Content' or something where we can show off flash vids, art, games and organize projects or recruit workers. I think its a good idea but it ultimately depends on how many of us want this to be more like newgrounds heh. I hope this thread can be a sort of discussion for those things until the new forum is hopefully made, so here are a few questions to start y'all off.

1. What position do you want to fill in a game dev team?
2. Anything you're working on, or wish to start but want help?
3. Is the new forum a good idea?

I do believe (I could be wrong, mind you) that your idea of creating a game development based section could be resolved instead via the creation of a "User Group".

The reason I say this is because a new section in the forums only makes sense if there is a lot (and I mean a lot) of people who are willing to share ideas and promote the interests for such a topic. Undoubtedly there will be several who will share that same interests but I doubt that it will be enough to merit it's own thread. Which is why starting with a 'user group' focused on game development will helpful. Also it will help because:

a) you can gauge the interest in the topic and weed out the relevant demographic from the current members
b) having a smaller community will help administrative issues one might want sorted
c) It will be more content driven than hype driven

Oh and for the record, I know nothing about game development, so I'll be on my way...

I think most of us are more about playing games then creating them. It is a very costly and time-consuming process that few of us have the resources for. Not saying that it doesn't have merit, it most certainly does. But I agree with Skarin that starting with a user group might be a better option, as you could probably expand from there if it proved very popular.

Okay I made the poll a bit more obvious, yes a user group was what I was meaning but I assumed video game making would be the focus since this is a game site.
