Probably a PS4. Definitely not on launch, though. I'll wait for a significant portion of games I want to come out first.

If they're going to go always on DRM then I'm probably getting none of them ever. I just can't support the idea of paying full price for a game that basically requires the planets to be aligned on a certain day with a full moon.
Exaggeration? Sure but I don't get why anyone would support that kind of stupid system.

I've been slowly starting to transition away from consoles and towards PC over the past few years. So far nothing about the PS4 has really grabbed my attention and I won't go anywhere near the next Xbox.

Funnily enough, the only eighth generation console I'm remotely interested in right now is the WiiU. If that starts getting a better library of exclusives sometime down the line, I might consider getting one.

Probably all of them, over time...

I'm gonna wait till the games library is worth something and the prices of both consoles and games (Platinum releases and whatnot) have dropped.

Seeing as how I'm still catching up on games released on the PS2, it's not like I'm gonna run dry on entertainment any time soon. (Hell, I've only just recently bought Chrono Cross from the US PSN - a PSOne game.)

As long as Sony puts out constant stream of exclusives, I'll be going with PS4. Its lack of backward compatibility means I won't be getting it for a while though.

Then it should be a peanut butter contest, because Nutella is a nut butter. (Made of Hazelnuts according to the internet).
I... really can't say anything about this, other that it made me hungry :)

Personally I'd love to make the switch to a gaming PC but, the price is still a deal breaker, as I'd like to do some travel and living overseas and a $1500 top of the range PC is a bit of a scare. However if the next lot of consoles is going to be 800-900 anyway, I'll just say fuck that shit and buy one. I'm honestly so close to that now it's crazy. Also anyone want to give me advice feel free and that's australian money by the way.

Well, there is nothing known about the new Eggsbox, the WiiU sold well already (sadly) and the PS4 doies not seem like its fan favourite. also a huge factor seems to be used games, as the poll i done in past indicated, so if Eggsbox will/won't allow it may play a HUGE role.

as opposed to paying enormous prices for games? you do realize that PC gaming is cheaper unless you buy new PC every 2 years right? you dont need 1500 dollars for a PC. a 800 dollar one will go a LONG way. though buying PC right now may not be the best option, the PC market is going to jump when PS4 launches since PS4 will be like a medium-power PC, so PC will rush to beat it in power and i suspect some nice things out of this.
Of course this being australia, you may have the overpriced PCs too...

I'm leaning towards getting a PS4, but if it disappoints (which for me mostly comes down to uninteresting exclusives) I'll probably go pure PC.

Like most of these discussions, I could not tell you right now because there is only one thing that I care about: Games.
Good Man

That is exactly what everyone should care about. None of the graphics, loading times or performance speed bullshit.
All that matters is the games and as you said Sony are delivering more in that department. If I want to operate my console via my fridge via my oven via my phone, then I'll talk to microsoft.
Ditto, but most likely ps4 because I won't have to create another account.
Also watch dogs is about the only console game I'm interested in at this point.
Also, university is probably going to divert most of my time and money, so I may just go with a gaming laptop

I usually get them all as then I can play whatever game I want and choose the best version in the case of cross platform titles but if Microsoft does go always online and make you lock games to systems I wont get it on principle, this would go for the PS4 but I believe they have already said they wont do this.

I rarely buy them at launch though I wait until there are a few games I want then get them same goes for updating my PC. I will most likely snap up a Wii U when the PS4 hits as there should be some games out I am interested in by then and hopefully it will get a price cut, then I can get the PS4 a few months later.

Is no one getting the Ouya or steambox or one of the millions of other things that are coming out? I most likely wont unless they show something amazing I havent seen yet mainly because I suspect most or maybe all of them will die pretty quickly but then again I could be wrong.

Ps4 most likely. Microsoft has a very limited selection of exclusives (Halo and Gears of War are the only one which springs to mind) and lacks 'quirky' exclusives for lack of a better word (Demon souls, Buzz, Sly, Jak and Daxter, infamous... Games which are a bit or a lot different from most games). Then again, I could be wrong on both accounts, I'm not that well versed on Xbox games.

Besides, I like the God of War, Infamous and Killzone franchises and am planning on getting a Vita which should fit nicely with a PS4. So unless they botch it or the Nextbox is significantly better than a ps4 I will get a ps4.

You should add the Steambox to that list!! I would really have to wait for more details about the consoles at this stage. They are all very quiet about their DRM features, and the price point has to be low to justify the fact it will last about 5 years and not the 10 years they always say

I've got a Wii U, because eventually Zelda will come, and that's a must-have. No question about it. I think there's enough out right now or coming soon to keep me entertained until Zelda comes too.

Not sure about other consoles. I want one, but they're not looking very good. The PS4 looks okay. Looks like they're trying to do as much as they can to make it appealing to devs and convenient for gamers, but there's a lot of bull shit too. Too much gimmicky crap like the "share" stuff and motion controls. But I think the worst thing is no real backward compatibility, at least not yet. There are quite a few PS3 games I never got to play that I would really like to, but I feel like it's too late or not enough to get a PS3. Being able to play them on PS4 would be a huge selling point, but it looks like that's not going to happen. This Gaikai stuff sounds pretty crap in my opinion too.

I used to think that the next Xbox would be a certain too because for me Forza is a must-have as well. As time has gone on though, it's starting to look very unlikely I'll get one. The rumours of what it'll be like sound awful. Even enough to ruin the experience of a game series that I've put far more time in to than any other. It still may only be rumours, but at this point they've grown so numerous as for them to be far more likely true than false. If so, then well done MS. You pushed me away from one of my favourite things in the world.

I'd like to get a PC, but I've been doing some serious thinking about it recently and I just don't feel like there's enough there for it to be worth the cost. But more importantly, I just don't really have the space to have one.

Did you really just say that PC-gaming isn't an option?
No, I said nobody took it seriously. And even then, "it" was in response to the "PC Gaming Master Race" comment.

It's possible I wasn't talking about the platform at all.

If the exclusives are interesting to me, i'll buy that console. That'll mean i'll likely end up with a PS4 in around 2-3 years when a decent amount of exclusives are on it (The Nextbox would need to do something amazing with Halo to get me to buy that though). For multi platform games my PC will always be the first choice anyway.

I already own a Wii U, and it is pretty awesome, just wish it had more games out for it. I'll probably eventually get a PS4. As for the new Xbox, I've turned my 360 on literally 3 times, and only have 3 games for it. If they would have made Gears of War 2/3 for PC, I doubt I would have bought my 360 at all, so I will most likely not get the new Xbox for a very long time, if I ever get it.

I grabbed a Wii U on launch day and have been really happy with it...except for that game drought that happened...but now Monster Hunter 3 Premium-Cut-Crack-Cocaine is out and I've been addicted to that and not Lego City Underground like I thought I would be. The biggest gripe I have with the U at the moment is that a lot of the available games and indeed, the games forecast in general are made up of titles that were released last year. I don't mind buying Deus Ex again since I've bought worse games more than once but I know I'm the minority there and I also know I'm one of maybe 4 or 5 people who played Mass Effect 3 and Arkham City on the Wii U instead of getting it months ago on any other platform.

I think I'm going to end up grabbing the PS4 at some point in a couple of years, once the slim model is out (I laughed at that...we don't even know what the normal one looks like yet) and when the PS4 games that have been out have enjoyed a price cut of some kind.

I really hope the rumors about the NeXtBoX are true because I want as many reasons as possible to pass it up this coming generation. I liked the Xbox 360 this gen well enough but I hated Xbox Live Gold and like another poster said, the exclusives do absolutely nothing for me at best and, at worst I absolutely despise. It also looks like the chances of Microsoft letting Rare make something I'd buy is around 0% and 5% and the odds of another Steel Battalion with a GIGANTIC FUCKING CONTROL ARRAY is somewhere in the negatives.

I don't play PC games. I don't comprehend PC games. I can't run Minecraft on my laptop and fear the expense required to make such games run on my computers. Luckily it looks like a lot of games are being ported over to PSN, e-Shop, etc.

As for Handhelds I already own a 3DS and am planning on grabbing an XL at some point just for the sake of having an extra Mii to help me through Find Mii though it'll probably be an import since I want some import games. As for the PSV, I can get a domestic and import to my hearts content however...there are too few games on the PSV that I couldn't just get on the PS3/PS4...I really want to want a PSV but I can't justify it yet. If nothing else I'll likely have a PSV before I can play SCP: Containment Breach or, whatever the next big PC exclusive will be.
