Will you be loyal to the next gen console of your current console?

My first console was the nintendo NES

Second was the PS one

Third was PS 2

Fourth was Xbox 360.

I went from the Nes to the PS one, cause well... the game cube sucked, and i was too poor to afford a SNES when it came out. Went straight from PS 1 to PS 2 and I intended to be loyal to Sony's PS3 until the backwards compatability was eliminated from it (couldn't afford the console in the early days when it was available) and i ended up being sold a second hand Xbox 360 for half nothing, which thanks to the current gen being the longest in existence i know have a large collection of games for.

Thanks to XBOX live, i now have software/games that i will download again to the Xbox 720, and if it remains backwards compatable, a large collection to play on it.

So to answer my own question, im sticking with Xbox.

What are you sticking with and why?

Depends entirely which console has games that I want that aren't on PC.

I couldn't give the slightest vestige of a damn about brand loyalty.

I'll buy whichever console I think best serves my interests.

I'm not going to buy the next Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft console just because it's from Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft.

The Gamecube came a generation after, the N64 was the PS1's competitor :p

Also the Gamecube was awesome.

I don't care about brand loyalty. I don't own a console, I mostly game on my PC. However, my little brother owns all three current generation consoles and we owned all three last generation consoles between us. We basically just buy whichever console has the games that we want when we can afford it and I doubt things will change next generation.

Having said that, if multiformat games remain as prevalent (which, let's face it, they will) I'll probably just stick to my PC.

Brand loyalty helps no one but the people that make the stuff. If they want my money they'll work for it.

I have a PS3 and 360. Use to have a wii, but it turned out to jut be a waste of space.

I've had all current consoles in my home since the SNES and Gensis, and Sony has had the one with the best games for 3 generation cycles straight. It's hard to think they'd kill that streak.

Seeing how most games are multiplat and it doesn't matter which console you own I'll probably stick with the Playstation. I have all 3 gens and I've been happy with them. Of course if the market goes back to console exclusives I have no loyalty that will make me stick with that, I'll get whatever has the best games.

I plan on buying the Playstation 4. I've always had Sony gaming products and they've always been amazing. I am going to buy it just because it's Sony but that's because I've built up a trust in the brand. Also I hate Microsoft's bullshit and I could never use an Xbox controller, and I'm not interested in watching all my Xbox and PS3 friends play the new Fallout or Elder Scrolls or whatever while I'm stuck with my WiiU or whatever it is playing Super Mario WiiU Edition 3.5.

It depends a lot on what the next gen will be.

I will probably get the next xbox unless there is a major change for the worse that I can't currently forsee. I can't really see myself getting a playstation, assuming the trend of it and the xbox being essentially the same thing(Look at their controllers, same buttons different names). Can't really justify the added expense of an entire additional console for a few exclusives.

Used to be nintendo all the way. Switching to xbox was really hard for me but that was what all my friends played at the time so if I wanted to play along I needed to switch. My Last nintendo console was the gamecube. Unfortunately nintendo hasn't put out a console that I have wanted to buy since, despite really liking the games they used to put out. the Wii and Wii U or whatever are just not designed to play the games I like to play.

Might not get the next console at all depending on what they are. I always went with consoles over pc because there were no lengthy installations or manual install patches and the fact I would never have to check my specs to see if I could run the game. Insert Disc...Play. That was it. However many of the negative traits of PC have begun to seep into consoles so it may not be worth it.

Most likely will get the next xbox though
