Today I woke up from one of my first nightmare in a few years. Actually, I believe its been more than ten years. I had no idea why I had it but it caused me to sleep-in and wake up in a cold sweat. It was a baaaaad one. It got me thinking. I'm gonna be 19 soon should I still be having them?

Do you guys still get nightmares or not? How bad are they? What do you think causes them?

I guess this can be a nightmare discussion thread or something like that.

No. I rarely have dreams, and when I do, they are fucked up in an awesome and humorous way.

I started taking melatonin because of sleeping problems I've been having. It helps tremendously getting you to sleep. It also causes all sorts of weirdarse, fucked up, crazy dreams. Problem is I can never remember them. I remember waking up, I remember being weirded out, but I have no idea what from.

The last scary dream I had was when I was about 6. Dreamed about a bear prowling around outside my house, always waiting at whichever exit I tried to take.

No, I do not. I have this small, simple dream-catcher that I have had for years, and I haven't had a nightmare in ages. No, I am not a believer in such mysticism, but it must have some kind of placebo effect carried on from childhood, as it seems to work.

I get them all the time. The strange thing is though, i enjoy them. They scare the crap out of me, wake me up then think what a great nightmare

I don't think there is anything strange about having a nightmare at any age. After all, it's not like you choose to have them occur. They just do.

Anyways, I don't think I've had any nightmares (that I can remember). Unless you count the chicken dream as a nightmare.

I don't think I've had one since watching someone play Resi Evil: Nemesis, when it was first released. I think I was about 9 at the time.

I get them on occasion, but since I can control my dreams (useful little trick) I can summon any item or just teleport the shit outta there.

Get ready for this one, I get strange looks for telling people this dream:

I wake up in a concentration camp that has no security fences or guards, the only barrier between me and the outside is a huge mosquito net. I easily slip under the net and proceed to run through a field of syringes and nuclear waste into an underground cloning facility. When I arrive in the cloning facility one of the scientists tells me that my radiation level is deadly high and the only cure is to transform me into a half-zebra half-man and send me to a cottage by the lake where me and other human-animal hybrids will eat paint chips off the wall in order to cure our radiation sickness.

The dream ends there. It doesn't sound scary but trust me I woke up and questioned my sanity.

About every one in three of my dreams could be seen as bad, though it's usually in retrospect. I'm rarely actually afraid in my dreams.
What is worrying however is that recently my dreams have had a habit of hanging around a few seconds after waking up. There's nothing like waking up to a spinning disembodied head in the crack of your wardrobe.

I've stopped dreaming entirely.... Kinda sad, some of my friends dreams sound hilarious...

I haven't had nightmares in ages... I had panic attacks for the first time in a few months last night though.
I thought I'd stopped having them, I'd done so well too.

I'm semi-conscious in many of the nightmares I have, so it's pretty easy to force myself to wake up. What's funny is that whenever I try to wake up I reach for an ESC button somewhere in my head and just like that I wake up... Most of my nightmares are placed in Silent Hill, so I guess I'm lucky I can wake up whenever I please.

You never stop dreaming, as far as I know. You just don't remember them.

Not often, but I do have the occasional Nightmare, most of the time though there just surreal and make no sense.
