Hey guys! So King`s Bounty Armored Princess is out and in my opinion it`s a great game only people don`t talk much about it. There are several theories as to why and the one I think is true is related to the fact that most people from the west don`t really like TBS games. I was wandering if this is true and to demonstrate my theory I put up a poll. Please vote and share your opinions on the matter.

EDIT: TBS stands for Turn Base Strategy, geez and you people supposed to be gamerz.

Turn based?
I love fire emblem, and have pointed that out a few times. Along with other members who are from the west.
Just like other games, its a matter of opinions.

Well, i can play them, but i'm not a huge fan. I don't seek them out purposefully.

I love me some Turn Based strategy.

It's more strategic than any RTS, which ends up becoming Rock/Paper/Scissors + Giant Army and calls itself "strategy".

Also: I thought this was about the American TV Station, TBS.

All that is Fire Emblem of course! Not to mention one of the best turn based strategy games of all time, Final Fantasy Tactics! (the original, not advanced)

Turn Based strategy is one of my favorite genres.

Turn based are more prevalent in the east for some reason. It's Nippon Ichi's rise to fame.

I'm a sucker for any kind of strategy game, so, yes.

I play Civiliz(should be s)ation: Revolution on mah PS3 on the odd occassion, but generally I find my strategy zing by playing free online games like Hex Empire and K Dice :)

Sorry, I'm failing to see the problem here.

Rock/ Paper/ Scissors is cool and you know it. It is how all wars should be decided. Can you imagine Bush and Bin laden having a game to decide champion of the universe? It would save a lot of death and national leaders would be picked on their playing ability. You get bonuses and stuff based on the size of the army and technology level that you would have been able to field in an "old school" war.

+ Giant Army. You're here because you are probably a gamer and + Giant Army is a bad thing?

Look, I'm just saying there's not much "Strategy" in Real Time "Strategy". That doesn't mean I don't enjoy steamrolling opponent with giant armies.

I don't disagree, I just wanted an excuse to put over my views on Rock/ Paper/ Scissors and a further excuse to type "+ Giant Army" a few times.

As long as the battle animations are cool and it's not that active battle thing, I might be okay with it, but I prefer hack n' slash.

I'm putting up no just because it's been a while since I played any.

But my answer is the same as for most anything. 90% shit, 10% good, and usually some of the bad ones are okay to while away an afternoon with. Beyond that, I don't have any strong feelings for them.

Turn Based Strategy is my favourite genre. Many of my favourite games are turn-based.

Jagged Alliance, Silent Storm, X-COM, Galactic Civilisations, Alpha Centauri, Heroes of Might & Magic, Civilisation, Total War (that kinda counts, doesn't it?), Age of Wonders... Not to mention all those Japanese strategy RPGs: Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Front Mission, Devil Survivor, Disgaea, etc.

At the moment I'm also playing King Artur - The Role-Playing Wargame, which is pretty much a fantasy version of Total war with some RPG extras thrown in, and Elven Legacy, which is a pure fantasy TBS.

It's a shame that proper TBS games are such a niche genre here in the West, with very few quality developers making them anymore (and a number of not-so-good (*cough*Russian*cough*) developers which is better than nothing I guess), since I find no other genre has such tactical and strategic depth as TBS games. My theory is that the new generation of gamers prefers fast, flashy action that doesn't require too much thinking...

Not really my cup of tea. I prefer my action hard, fast, and intense with decisions that must be made in mere moments.

My favourite Turn Based Strategy games are the Advance War Series of games for the GBA and DS.

Big fan of the Total War Series (both the TBS and RTS elements) and the Civ series. I tried the Europa Univeralis games but they were a bit too heavy.

I'd never heard of this title, but I'll definately be taking a look.
