Was right to me. Rememberd the Princess Bride as being awesome. It is.

I actually watched it recently and can't remember why I liked it so much. I think it one of those films where the little things they added are better than the movie as a whole.

That and Dark Crystal seems more depressing than how I remember it.

just rewatched it recently, its so fucking cheesy, but thats what makes it awesome.

honestly i love everything i did as a kid, i realize its childish and cheesy and fake, but i love that stuff! i watch power rangers/dbz (marathon on yesterday ftw!)/pokemon with my brother all the time!

Seconded. I had such awesome memories of that show as a kid, but I recently rewatched the first five or six episodes and was quite disappointed.

I watched an episode of the original power rangers and my reaction was "I used to like this shit!!!" God aweful, just god aweful.

BUT! Teenage Mutant ninja turtles is still good, the original Xmen cartoon still kicks ass, and Rockos Modern Life got away with sooooooooo much raunchy shit its amazing.

Generally I haven't been disappointed by nostalgia. This is because I never watched that much TV as a child, so the few shows I did watch tended to be the best of the time, and anything I've watched since I've watched on recommendation that it was already good.

And my parents were discerning readers, so my primary entertainment as a child was reading, usually very good books.

The later films are awful, but the first three are just OK. There's nothing more to it, and it's not like I remember it.
