Does it bother anyone else that anytime you say something about a culture or race you have to add a disclaimer to say that its not because you have a hatred for them but its just a joke.

As a great man once said: "A society where anyone can make jokes about anyone else and everyone laughs is a truly tolerant society." (If you dont know who that is shame on you.)

If someone is making a joke, I tend not to pidgeon-hole them as racist. I only do that if they just mutter a racial comment under their breath as we pass a group of Jamaicans. Even, then, I still laugh.

I don't really care.
I'm careful not to make a joke about a minority when members of said minority are around. Otherwise, meh.
That's how very PC I am.

I love racism/sexism jokes and all that kinda stuff. They're hilarious. Doesn't mean I believe the jokes though.

I even had to disclaim that.

Yeah it kind of bothers me, I fear saying the word "black" because I might offend a black person with all this political correctness bullshit. It's stupid, a black person is black there's no two ways about it, I don't care what colour their skin is they are still human beings.

The ink is black and the page is white, together we learn to read and write. That's the way it should be.
(No offence)

Whenever I make a racist joke when there's a black person around(there are only like 4 at our school), I'm being called a racist by the black guy/girl in question.

Though I am strongly opposed to racism, a good joke's a good joke. Racist or not.

Everybodies a racist, it's the one thing that makes us all exactly the same. And if anyone ever tells you otherwise, here's something you can say to them.

You: What do you call a flying a plane?
Them: ...I dunno, what?
You: A pilot, ya racist bastard

You are mixxing telling jokes and being a jerk. There are plenty of TV shows and comedians which are funny because of their open vulrarity and racism. But none of them is doing it with any malicous intent or as way to undermine that group.

So if you got punched in the face for telling a rude joke, you probably deserved it. And you should get another one if you appologised - for being a wiseass.

I just laugh.

The only people who get offended when I talk about a certain race are white middle-class English people. People have looked at me like I was juggling chainsaws when I once pointed out that, in a Halloween Walk we were once doing, I didn't envy the black guy because "Horror movies have shown us, it is always the black guy who dies first. Always."

The two white girls with me started looking around in a paranoid fashion, as if we were about to be attacked by a stampede of offended black people. The guy who I was making the joke about laughed, agreed, and then even said the exact same words a couple of times when he got freaked out.

I don't make racist jokes, but I'm not scared of pointing out that someone is of a certain race. Hell, I'll even go by and ironically point out the stereotypes of their race. It's only taboo if you act like it's supposed to be.

If you really find yourself having to add a disclaimer you're either talking to a very touchy group of people or you're putting yourself across in the wrong way.

When I make racist jokes it's always about black people (I'm black) or any other minority in the group I'm with. Most people get that I'm not being serious.

However a truly tolerant society is only an ideal, and is not achievable in real life unfortunately. Then again I'm a white male, it's kinda difficult to make jokes against me unless I wanted to be a fireman, in which case it would be very cruel o0.

I'm annoyed when people feel the need to put that disclaimer there. It should be obvious from the context whether there is real racism there. If a listener can't tell whether you are joking, maybe the joke isn't that good.

Putting a disclaimer like that there makes it sound like you in fact are racist, sexist, speciesist or whatever, and saying that just to cover your back.

I love racist jokes and i never tell people i'm not racist

i shouldn't have to, and if they are going to jump at assumptions or try to hit me for it, then they deserve no friendship from me or in the case of aforementioned hitting, a punch back :p

We all belong to a race so we're all a little racist.

Aslong as you don't let it take over your life it's no bother.
