Say you're working as a doctor (Even if you're not, just pretend.) and one of the new patients is a dear family member/friend, and they were dying.
To save them you'd have to break protocol somehow. You saving them would result in the loss of your job and your liscence (you'd never be able to practice in your field again) and possible jail time because it'd be illegal for some reason. (Just go with it.)
Edit: Let's assume that to save the person you care about you'd have to ignore the patient that you're supposed to be working on.
That patient might not die, but you won't not be around to detect any new symptoms they might show.
Would you keep your required objectivity in that case, or would you screw the rules and save the person?
