Same here, only I have to eat equal amounts with the left and right of my mouth (left, right, left, right) and the touch thing goes to an extreme (like if I burn myself, I have to do it again). I have to strive to be equal.george144 said:or if I knock against something with part of my body I have to do the same on the opposite side, I feel that if I don't do these things then I'm going to feel sick and its usually the case if I try not to do them, I know its only physiology but you try telling that to my stomach

You ask anyone with OCD what they're afraid of happening if they don't do "insert OCD habit here" and they'll never really be able to tell you. The reason is because there isn't a specific thing to fear. It's a nagging feeling in your brain, like someone is tugging on your sleeve, and you get anxious and feel that the only way to get rid of that feeling is to fix, or repeat said action until the feeling goes away.xitel said:A friend of mine had diagnosed OCD, causing him to wash his hands over 50 times a day. Because of that his hands were always raw and cracked, as he kept rubbing the skin off. I can't tell you what he feared would happen otherwise, I don't think it was just a germaphobia, as he was a pretty outdoorsy person.

It's like OCD, but the letters are in order.
