It is at least better than that bar of soap mouse they had.

THE MIGHTY MOUSE! More like the mighty bar of soap.

This kind of reminds me of this thread only in reverse.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/6.148205

I love how people hate innovation and new design if it comes from Apple but absolutely love it if it comes from Microsoft. Because all the cool kids have realized that reverse "stick it to the man" is the new stick it to the man.

Why are you people so surprised? Apple overcharges everything for being stylish. I'll stick to my tainted gaming mouse thank you very much.

One reason I hate apple is that they just pick up a theasurus and use every postive descriptive word out of it, and the Apple ellitists lap up every word of this. Doubtless they will soon claim that this is superior in every way to regular mice and that we are all retards for sticking to our old ones.

Until I've used one I have no opinion.

But, judging by Apple's last umpteen mouse efforts I'll be sticking with the Logitech one in my bag.

Screen zoom

Hold down the Control key on your keyboard and scroll with one finger on Magic Mouse to enlarge items on your screen.

Im sry Apple how is this better than the mouse scroll button? i Actually got to press a key AND move my mouse to do a simple zoom?
This is a mouse that is so limited i rly agree with the only for facebook comment.
And us being in a gaming forum . . .what sane gamer would play anything with a no button mouse?

What is all this hate for Apple. Seriously this is just the natural progression of things. Honestly $50 says if Microsoft brought this out it would be hailed as the greatest thing ever. This looks like its will be pretty good, ok I can understand that some people (gamers especially) will not like this, alright it's not for them, but aside from that I think that it will be quite good. It's the next logical step, why should we keep old technology just because you're accustomed to it? If you don't like it fine, but all the hate and abuse at a fucking company because they made a product you will never buy or use and therefore never be affected by is fucking childish and pointless.
No. The hate for Apple is because they are in the unique position of being Microsofts only real competition and use that position to do nothing but hurl crap out all day long. Microsoft has had run-away success because its products (up until this stinking heap of crap we call Vista) had worked reasonably effectively and simply considering what we were asking of them. Apple, by contrast, don't take this approach. They offer nothing more than gimmicks which are always inferior to their opposition.

What are the advantages of an iPod over an MP3 player?

What are the advantages of an iPhone over an all singing and dancing mobile [http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone]?

What are the advantages of a mac over a PC?

The only real reason I can see is that Steve Jobs, that incredibly bitter man [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upzKj-1HaKw] with an ego [http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/42152/118/] that is totally out of control [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wiley_&_Sons#Controversy], manages to make money if people choose the former over the latter.

This new mouse is just another example of an unnecessary gimmick, where they should be offering a real alternative.

I agree, I would never use something like this. When I buy a new mouse, I want it to have MORE buttons than my old one (which has 4 buttons and a clickable scroll wheel).
Plus it will be included in every Mac computer... I since aftermarket Mac mouse sales will skyrocket.
ha, only 4 buttons, I have 10.

OT: I don't really like apple's stuff, it just doesn't sit well with me.

I'd like to try it, it looks pretty cool. Like they've made their touch pads into a mouse, which is a good thing, their touch pads are the best.

Still no freaking right click.
It has a right click...
where?
You right click the top-right side...
Seems like an awkward solution having a smaller area defined as the "right click zone".

One thing Apple will learn and likely learn the hard way is sometimes it's just good to have some real buttons.

I like apple crumble
Meh I dont really care. Macs do what they do and now they do it with an ugly roadkill mouse. Does it affect me? No. Does it run games that are good (thats the key word) and interesting? No.

Will the Mac users be able to edit photos and videos with a different mouse? Yes. I wish them the best of fun.

Looks wierd. I'm not too keen on the look of those sharp edges, but i'm sure it will be quite good. As long as it doesn't get all confused as to what you want it to do.

I like Mac products, but have never been a fan of their mice. It is interesting, I dunno about the practicality of it, would need to use it a while first, I think it would be uncomfortable though.
