Well, to be fair Cars isn't actually a bad film. It's pretty good compared to the majority of other cgi films of the time and today. But the main problem was that it just didn't feel like a Pixar film and like more of a dreamworks movie. It lacked that little bit of magic that the rest of Pixar's films have. I'm really not saying that we should crucify Pixar for making a good film instead of a great one, but it is the only blip on Pixar's back catalogue that lacks the spark of their previous films.RAKtheUndead said:There really are very few films about motorsport that I've seen that are more authentic than Cars - Le Mans, Steve McQueen's personal pet project and contender for the title of "best motorsport film ever made" is the only one that springs to mind.
I second this. If I just remember Wall-E...dit Disney ever succeed in making a fantastic movie with barely any dialogue? Pixar pulled it off, and hów.Strafe Mcgee said:Pixar is probably the greatest movie development studio in the past... Actually, in the past ever. No company has ever came close to delivering the volume of sophisticated, intelligent and appealing movies which are often more emotionally powerful than any other Oscar movie you might care to name. The best animation in cinema, combined with some of the most interesting scripts and lovingly sculpted characters make them absolutely peerless. Old Disney were great, but Pixar are perfect.
Apart from Cars, but we can forget about that right?
