Poll: Older Fighting Games

Out of the following games: Soul Calibur 2, Soul Calibur 3, Tekken 3, and Tekken 4
which would you recommend getting for 2-player competition?

Out of these? Tekken 3. But really, I wouldn't recommend any of them by today's standards. Instead I would recommend MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!

For 2 player mucking around? Soul Calibur 2.
For 2 player competitive play? Tekken 3, though Soul Calibur 2 isn't bad at all for that either.

A million times this.

But out of that list, I'd say Soul Calibur 2 as I'm a bit on and off withe Takken. SC2 just has this fun factor to it where it can be both competitive and just a party game. Me and my friends would have a laugh pitting CPUs against each other and betting on who would win. It was fun, deep, and was good for competitive and casual play.

Either Soul Calibur 3 or Tekken 3.

Soul Calibur 3 is a lot faster and refined than 2, has more modes, more characters, and the ability to create your character. It's easily my favorite fighting game.

For the Tekken games, it wouldn't really matter. 4 has more characters and stages and better graphics, but doesn't have some of the characters from 3 (really only Gon and Dr. B though). However, if you like playing Jin, then get 3 because he sucks in 4.

I really only prefer 3 over 4 for nostalgia's sake.

I played Guilty Gear once and I never really got into it all that much. That was the original Guilty Gear, though. Didn't mind the old guy with the huge butcher knife/sword.

Killer Instinct was a gem that could never be imitated properly. Not even KI2 topped the first one. Plus, the music of KI was top notch. Back when RARE games were legends...

However, to each their own, and I respect yours.
