My parents and I are strong fans of the TV series, Bones. In the newest episode, however, we reached rather different conclusions to the finale. For those interested in the topic, but didn't/don't want to watch the show the basic rundown is
My parents think that it was completely unforgivable, but I disagreed. He was doing what he believed to be right, in the only way that would receive any real attention from the media. The death was a tad brutal, but another calculation to gain attention from the media and authorities. In the end, he did more good than a lot of people did by exposing these men, and I can't fault him for it. I just feel that if a life must be sacrificed in order to bring evil men to justice, so be it. Again, my parents disagreed, and told me I was being cold and dark, which I thought was uncalled for.
Thoughts? Whether it is on the situation itself, or the debate of results versus methods, I'm interested in hearing others' opinions.
A computer hacker under house arrest for bringing to light the extremely insecure pentagon network killed a woman in order to bring to light how CIA informants are protected from prosecution for serious offences, the example of a man who performed identity theft, mass fraud, and theft of savings and pension who, protected by the CIA, was completely safe from justice was used. He was also mentioned to be one of the less extreme cases.
