Diablo II I made it all that way through to nightmare that includes the expansion mode before I ate dust. The best parts are when you are on the verge of death and you pull off some crazy shit you wouldn't do normally. He was a necro named Melvin.
All I have to say to that is, regarding the boss at the end of Act II, not dying is impressive. I have no idea how to manage that.

I died pretty late in the game, during the Landsmeet. That really, really bugged me.
I'm thinking of doing a DA:O Hardcore, Iron Man, Solo, non-mage.
Just to see if it's do-able.

Especially with a necromancer. Unless you were playing online, then it's not too far fetched.

Also, UPDATE: Batman's dead. I know, I didn't think it was possible but it happened. And, believe it or not, it was Bane.

I was actually surprised that I made it that far on hard.

i've done it on final fantasy 7 but to make it even if a party member goes down they are switched. if they cannot be switched they just guard no more actions are taken. was hard and i failed on the first sephiroth/jenova battle..on the boat.

Demon's Souls. As a 'Monk'. Bare fists. Cloth armour. Only storm ruler is allowed for storm king.

Alternately, Dual wield shields.

Or just play the game in ironman mode. Or do either of the above in iron man to make it even harder.

I can't say I have ever really tried any such restrictions on a game. I think if I was going to it'd have to be a game I've played and completed at least once already, and I'd be doing this to revisit or get more out of the game. I couldn't see myself enjoying something if I tried this first time.

Non mage? Ha! You're doomed!
Seriously though, there are a couple of people over on the Bioware forums who've done it - though they might have cheated a little with mods. That said, good luck! You will need it.

I use to play on hardcore mode in Diablo 2. It was pretty brutal, could spend a full month leveling a character and collecting good gear, then get murdered and its all gone forever.
Same here. Once I died at Mephisto. That was the furthest I got. I think I was level 34.

I have done it since on a couple games. I made it through Uncharted on normal difficulty. Force Unleashed 1 Starkiller was killed a walker. I also do it on minecraft. (I have a world that is persistant though.)

I beat MGS3: Snake Eater without dying. Most of it in one sitting. Once you realize that the knife is ungodly, and have the right camo, it's pretty easy. Now, doing it without dying while killing nobody would be something else entirely.

I'm thinking Sword and Board Champion/Templar-Reaver, due to heals.

Or maybe almost-pure dex build rouge as they dodge almost everything.

It's the only way I ever play Metal Gear Solid 4 (and without kills, alerts, health items and special items, of course). I've done it a couple of times in Metal Gear Solid 3 as well. Other games, not so much.

I've been doing that with RDR, Minecraft, and several of my other games.
The easiest hands down was MGS4. I did the entire game on Hard, then Extreme.
Hard was a pushover. When it came to extreme, I used the haven camo from the extras, so when you stand still, noone can see you. It made it easier, but the fight with Vamp, and the final punchout with Liquid sucked to no end. The craziest thing, I didn't kill ANYBODY for either run-throughs.

Played some ADOM, a roguelike. As a poster above me said, that's the only mode in roguelikes.

I have yet to complete any of these, but yeah, Roguelikes are the unltimate 'one life per game'. My ADOM scoreboard alone must contain nearly a thousand of failed playthrough attempts!

Last weekend I turned the difficulty down to 'Normal' and played Reach through from start to finish without dying (apart from where you have to), but that's on 'Normal' so probably doesn't count as an Iron Man run.

I beat pokemon blue in under 5 hours with just 4 pokemon (Squirtle, oddish, spearow and zapdos). No saves, and if all my pokemon fainted I would restart. Took me a few tries, but was worth it, just to show my friends that it could be done.
I do this in minecraft all the time, it adds to the game in my opinion.
I played once or twice on Diablo II, but I was a lot younger when I tried it, and I very much disliked losing a character like that.
