my Last topic " one sided games" most people said that most games are aimed towards males and not so many towards females as well, I do believe there are girls that play games as well. To me its kinda sad not seeing everyone get the spotlight in a sense yes we see girls as main casts for different games but they only show off sex appeal for minors and such ( I.E Ninja gaiden 1-2 , Devil may cry, Mortal kombat etc ) even light tone games they try to slip something in ( rouge from sonic the hedgehog for example ) thought kids probably never see it but older kids do if companies would stop portraying women as sex toys and as real people that can have there own agendas there own games and what not that has them dress like a normal person.
Cause to me it bothers me somewhat and I'm not even a girl, they don't have to cater to one side completely just try to give more leeway for everyone it all I'm asking, I know there are boys that don't play games out there as well "

I heard somewhere that the number of gamers who are female is around 42% or so. I couldn't tell you where that comes from but I've heard statistics of around that level talked about several times before.

Also I kind of doubt you will get a valid sample of non-gamers on this website to be honest.

Okay first of all . What does " Games are aimed at boys" even mean? Are there special games that girls should play and certain games that boys should play? Just assuming the boys and girls cannot enjoy the same kind of games is wrong.

Also there are many female protagonists in video games , from laura croft , to the chick from perfect dark , to shion from xenosaga and everything in between . So i don't see what the problem is , women are viewed as proper protagonists in video games .

They are also not all that sexualized . Sure there are the occasional Ivy from soul calibur and every female in DOA. But that's no more than all the good looking men as protagonists in videogames . From drake from uncharted to Dom from Gears of war , to dante from DMC . Men are as good lookig as women in videogames . Just that women don't GUSH over the men as much as men do over the women .

Also, take in consideration that men in videogames cannot show their "junk " in a game without the game being classed Adult only . There isn't much to show on a man , apart from maybe muscles , which games do show on men quite often ( Jacob from ME2 anyone?) . Women have more curves that are possible to see , as much in real life as in video games . Sure sometimes womens breasts might be TOO big , but also some of the mens muscles ( every man in gears of war for example .

I think people are just too damn uptight about this stuff , and see only what they want to see.

EDIT: also what do men tend ( in general )to find sexy? Breasts,boobs, skin . There are plenty of those in games. What do women tend to ( in general)find sexy? Muscles , abs , personality , ruggedness . There are plenty of thoses also .
