Me and my friends were playing some NFS : Hot pursuit. I heard someone say "the games really boring apart from multi player which is fun as fucking shit". I didn't completely agree with this as I enjoyed single (when I wasn't crashing on the preview of cars). This brought me to the question, Do you find the multi player more "fun" or "better" than single?

Obviously it depends on the game, but I agree with randomperson that Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is wayyy better online. A lot more fun.

Racing games are generally better online.

Except for Midnight Club. Fucking love me some solo Midnight Club.

I've never liked any online racer that I've tried.

CoD and Bad Company 2 were made almost solely for multiplayer.
BC2 with friends is amazing. BC2 with strangers is usually crap. And for the same reason: BC2 requires teamwork. If you play with people who have mics and work together you can have alot of fun. On the other hand, if your squad refuses to play like a team then it usually ends up being tedious.

In short, it depends largely upon the type of game and the community. In general, I prefer single-player.

Some singleplayer games are better than some multiplayer games and vice versa. On the whole, I feel that singleplayers ability to offer a meaningful story experience makes it a more enjoyable experience for me, but there are also some multiplayer games I've played for a -lot- longer than any singleplayer game (looking at TF2)

I prefer multiplayer coop to singleplayer, but I prefer singeplayer to multiplayer pvp in general. Exceptions are games that are fun with a few friends at LANs. Online multiplayer has never really wowed me.

It depends on the game, but usually multiplayer is more fun and single player is more rewarding. Multiplayer is the candyfloss to singleplayer's steak.
