there was a 'science jokes' thread on here a while ago... i got most of the physics and some programming ones, but biology and chemistry went right over my head. i'd look up the keywords in the punchline and get the joke.

I don't remember any circumstances where I didn't get the punch line of a joke until later on, although I'm sure it has happened many times.
Even though this isn't a joke, I have a friend on steam with the name ouija but I didn't know it is a reference to ouija boards until a few months later... I thought the name was pronounced ooh-ee-ja... XD

It was some stupid sex joke from a movie.

Didn't get it till about two years later in the middle of one my classes.

I burst out laughing and had a "great" time explaining why.

George W. Bush wakes up one morning, feeling good. He calls in his Vice-President.
"Dick", he says, "I think I need a new title to reflect my position as leader of the free world. I'm going to call myself King."
"You can't do that," says Cheney, "you don't have a kingdom."
"Okay then," says Bush, "what about Emperor?"
"No good. You don't have an empire."
"Prince?"
"No. America isn't a principality."
"Okay... Err... Duke?"
"Nor is it a Duchy."
"Well, do you have any better ideas?" asks an exasperated Bush.
Cheney smiles. "It's obvious, George," he says. "You run a country."
