There's a new Open Source handheld device called Pandora . I wasn't aware of its existence till yesterday.
Here's the specifications:
ARM® Cortex?-A8 600Mhz+ CPU running Linux
430-MHz TMS320C64x+? DSP Core
PowerVR SGX OpenGL 2.0 ES compliant 3D hardware
800x480 4.3" 16.7 million colours touchscreen LCD
Wifi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth & High Speed USB 2.0 Host
Dual SDHC card slots & SVideo TV output
Dual Analogue and Digital gaming controls
43 button QWERTY and numeric keypad
Around 10+ Hours battery life
As you can see, it's the most powerful handheld device to this day. Just look at it! Sure it looks like a DS but it does all the things I ever wanted from a handheld. The fact that this device is open source means that you're free to do whatever you want with the hardware and the games. For example you can play Super Mario 64! You still have to buy it though (330 Euros)... LOL.
