It just came to mind because of real life and Internet forums: Just because you're of a "somewhat higher" status, are you more believeable? For example do you listen to the snooty popular kid just because he/she is popular? On a forum, whose opinion matters more, the normal person or the "Slightly higher leveled because of being on the website longer" person?

Me/Mods *only from a I have to stand point "see probation"/Me again/People I do agree with/People I don't agree with/People who get up in my Grill/People who want to get in my grill but want to avoid arguments so they just sit in quite disagreement.

Thats my hierarchy.

On the internet, I don't really value anyone's opinion much at all. Except for people who have proved dependable, I just tune the rest of you guys out.

I listen to everyone's, I have my own opinion however, and it sometimes clashes with what other people feel. I don't place other people's opinions on a pedestal or anything because I'm on neutral ground with everyone on the internet, regardless of post count, how much your avatar moves, or whatever the fuck.

Only mines really, but I don't mind hearing a few others. I also try my best to be neutral when it comes to others opinions clashing.

I listen to the people who share my opinion, so in essence I don't take anyone's opinion into account, I just quantify how many users agree with me. There are two or three people on the R&P forum whose posts are always intelligent and interesting, but I've never noticed their post count or any stupid crap like that. I like them because their posts are well written and informed, and if they were to present an opinion contrary to my own I'd be more likely to consider it [sub]before dismissing it[/sub].

I listen to everyone's opinions.

This does not mean I have to reply to them though.

Short answer yes with an if; long answer no with a but.
In the grand scheme of things everyones opinion matters, even the ones you don't agree with. To make any informed decision you need to be informed, and that means having as much information from as many sources as possible.
However alot of opinions should be taken with a pinch of salt, and definitely some more than others. A good example would be Fox News verses BBC World. While BBC World is not without it's faults, I personally would take what they say with more weight than that of Fox News. The same approach should be taken when listening to opinions on forums or in day to day encounters. Deciding whose opinion carries more weight than others is an exercise for yourself.
That's just my opinion though...

If it is a well-thought out opinion/argument, then I will gladly listen. They don't have to side with me, but they do need to put thought into what they're going to say. If I feel someone is just talking for the sake of being heard without any real substance, I'll gladly move on.

I only listen to people who know what they're talking about. If a five year-old kid tells me to reelect our current President, i'll be like, uh, no. If said President says his new stimulus plan will work, well i'll say more or less the same thing I told the kid. If a Korean starcraft champion tells me to build a few more vikings, then I will definitely consider it.

No ones opinion matters.

You're all wrong and I am completely 100% right.

Seriously.

Disagree, and it wont matter. After all I've already stated you're wrong.

I listen to everyone's opinion and then make a judgement on whether it's worth following. I just need to hear the guy out, not care what he has to say. His opinion could be the most wrong thing I've ever heard, I'll correct him on it and then leave him to either be stubborn or adapt his opinion like I do.

I only listen to my opinion, until my opinion is proven wrong. Others may have their own opinions, but I won't accept them, until they can prove it.

The only opinion that matter is mine, now if they bring in some fact that support their opinion then it starts getting weight, and if the facts are good enough my opinion may change.

I take everyone's opinion into consideration, no matter how stupid it is. I am not sure why, it is just how my mind works. At least I get a wide array of opinions...
