Has age ever had an effect of your opinion of your main playable character or the star of a movie?

I have mostly found teenagers (my demo) in movies or games to be unrelentingly stupid or cruel to other people, so I hate watching movies about them. I will usually not cheer for them, usually because of the ass - the male protagonist who think he knows everything. When they finally learn their lesson, it's done in such a cheesy way.
I know that's what teenagers of this age usually are, and I still wouldn't root for them.
An example would be Under The Mountain. Don't watch that movie unless you can put up with "twinness" and "You're wrong old-man-who-happens-to-be-the-sole-expert-of-what-is-going-on!"

Kid heroes are mostly for children's films, which I don't care for much because one included is "Spy Kids".

Yes, for games it would be different.

are you asking if my age has a bearing on my opinion? or if i care about the age of the characters? either way, i prefer grown up characters, and always have. even when i was a sprout, i despised child and teen characters. they are always usually insufferable little pricks. pretty much the only exceptions in my mind are several of the Stark kids (especially Arya) from A Song of Ice and Fire. mainly 'cause they're living in a world where they are forced to be adults even though they're children and teens. also, they're very realistically portrayed. they're equally capable of stupidity and brilliance, cruelty and kindness. there's very little about them that's idealized or unbelievable.

Moody old man, angsty teenager, 12-year old kid, marine pumped on testosterone and adrenaline, self righteous ass who claims to do "good"...

Fuck the protagonists really... any age, equaly anoying. Id join the bad guys anytime.

Yes, child / young-mid teen heroes annoy me so much I pretty much skip over games with them in if I can. Since i'm an RPG player, its a bane of my favorite genre.

There are manly men and women protagonists, but I think mostly in war games. All others... eh I do't play enough games with those.
