Just like Red Hot Chilli Peppers fans...

Coincidence? I think not.

wtf, im a big RHCP fan.

i hate peta tho.

and i know a few other RHCP fans too.
If you're into that band, you really shouldn't be on the internet.

You should be in your room, coloring.
because somehow radio friendly catchy tunes are bad.

here lemme make a generalization.

if you like death/black metal, or rap you should be in jail.

if you like power metal you should be watching Lord of the Rings!
Fixed for you there.

You can be for the ethical treatment of animals without being a complete fascist asswipe about it.

I treat animals ethically and I eat meat, too.

If you are looking for PETA members, go to liberal colleges in the United States. They do most of their recruiting there. The PETA members I know are very secretive about meetings. I think that means either they don't really have meetings or they are embarrassed by the meetings.

How do you mean? I would have thought they would be very open with meetings. I'm sure they'll advertise it widely, if not the internet should point you out.

I've never really heard of secretive meetings. It seems odd for a group trying to recruit people.

My friend claims to have been a PETA member once, though I don't know. Beyond that possibility, yeah....No.

Not really, I was being rather facetious. It was 4 in the morning last night, and I decided to post something rather flawed an rather outrageous. I have no real beef with PETA, they haven't hindered me in any way, however it's no secret that they take things too far at times, something they need to realise.

I mean the PETA members I know are secretive about their meetings. PETA themselves may not be secretive about their meetings, I was simply stating the people I know who claim to be in PETA are secretive about their events.

PETA has been branded as a bunch of crazy, eco-terrorists. Unfortunately, that might have something to do with not wanting to discuss their local events.

PETA is dumb. They kill more animals than they save, they're a bunch of lunatics, and they think chickens are worth more than humans.

I don't like PETA, and I want to eat a bloody, juicy steak right in front of them.

Throw some more pork on the grill, some more chicken on the Bar, B, Q,
We're all gonna get together right near PETA,
With a nice big pot 'o beef stew.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

People who eat tasty animals? No.
People for ethical treatment of animals? No.
Always hear of them swarming burger joints, but ive never seen or met one.

You know those guys/gals that walk up to you in the street holding clip boards, I hope every time I see one it's a member of the P.E.T.A, If it ever is, I'm simply going to drop him in the middle of the town, I'le get arrested for it but it would be worth it

Given the almost bestial hate the very notion of P.E.T.A arouses in people, the people in this thread no less, I don't blame the P.E.T.A members for not wanting to be seen.

A little less hatred, a bit more discussion please.

peta is not an organization worthy of its own thread.
Friend, we all know that, but there are hundreds of threads on PETA, saying how it sucks so much. I usually stick with it for the fantastic flames.
first off, i'm not yours or anyone elses friend. second, there isn't a reason for a thread like this. like religion, people get fanatic when involving eating habits and moral choices. besides if you're looking for flames, you might have picked the wrong forum to stay.
Why did you freak out like that? I didn't say anything to make you angry, and if I did it was unintentional. And no one has gotten angry at anyone. You're right, no flames here, other than this one. You could try to not be so temperamental, as I did nothing to provoke you. I said "friend." it fit into the sentence. Sorry, though.
that wasn't a flame. a flame is an insult, and a flame war is when people act like monkeys flinging poo at each other in a largely sequential order.

besides, you did plenty to provoke me to that kind of response since it's on par with almost every one of my other "regular" responses. i don't freak out or get angry, i get rational. to your original statement i can only say: don't indulge yourself in others people misery or rage unless you have earned that privilege.
That didn't seem very rational, it seemed very rude, it seemed uncalled for and if that's your regular response to people then I have no difficulty believing you don't have any friends. If you didn't like the thread then you didn't have to post let alone insult a member just for trying to be friendly.

Considering PETA wants you to veer off the road and kill yourself to avoid hitting an animal... and wants all planes to stop flying because every now and then a bird or 2 is killed inside the engine...and wants there to be no PETS...and uses donated money to come up with solutions that would never work in the real world and pretty much every one of their ideas is shot down...

And holds animals above humans and give humans no word. Has PETA really made any substantial impact on endangered wildlife that are slowly becoming extinct? No seriously, I'm asking here.
I also hope you don't seriously believe this. The fanatics against PETA are worse then those that are fanatics for PETA.
How ironic. You complain that people are too concerned with blind hatred, and then spit in the face what is basically PETA's philosophy regarding animals to complain that the other side is more stupid than you are. It's amazing how the supporters of PETA can so perfectly mirror the hypocrisies of it's creators.

wait... telling a person off because he is expecting flames from a thread is rude? get yourself together.

i don't know what you hoped to see from your reply, which leads me to question your motivation to reply to a weeks-old discussion in a thread. what did you expect that i would do after reading your reply? make a concession in a forum-rule backed argument?

one thing is being friendly when talking about something, another entirely is the context of one's message. racists can be friendly to people too - but that doesn't make their offense any less grave. the same would go for "friendly" bank robbers or any other "friendly" criminals.

so please, "friend", excuse my "manners" and look at the context of the discussion rather than how it was written. oh, and never mind me having studied rhetorics; never mind that i know that a "politically incorrect" way of saying things makes people actually listen instead of taking it as a "helpful" reminder.

No telling a person off for expecting flames isn't rude, but snapping at some one for giving you a friendly reply is, maybe with that so called big brain of your's you may have seen that he didn't imply that s/he was flaming or intending to flame but to sit back and read some of the flames that come from forums like this.

I'm not telling you off, I ain't your mum or dad I was commenting on your impoliteness, I read both of your comments and you could have put it in a much better way then insulting some one, personally I don't care if you've studied rhetoric, if you know the secrets of the universe or if you pick up a sword and say "I have the power" you turn into a brick shit house there's no need to be impolite.

You assume I didn't read all the comments before posting, I did but I didn't see anything called for in what you said, the guy/gal even replied apologizing for causing offence and you threw it back at him.

I didn't search this thread out, it appeared on the front page and posted on it, I didn't read the dates, I don't see how it matters on how long ago something was said for me not to have a valid opinion, I think Hitler was a prick yet that was over 60 years ago, but do I not have the right to call Hitler a prick because it happen 60 years ago??.

To be honest I didn't know what you were going to reply with or care, I assumed from reading your post that you've got your head so far up your own arse all you can taste is your own shit, after reading your response it seems I was correct, I replied in order to defend a poster, no one else seemed to feel like defending him/her yet s/he didn't do anything to deserve the response you gave.

I've met a few, but they weren't the crazy off-the-wall ones. They were the foolish ones who "donate for my animals" not knowing that PETA would take their pets away.
