Almost no one has seen a member.
Just like Red Hot Chilli Peppers fans...

Coincidence? I think not.
Sorry I haven't read through the rest of the thread yet, but:

Where do you live? Jesus there are so many RHCP fans around here. Maybe it's your age though.

E: Oh and while we're on the topic I really like some of their songs like Easily or On Mercury and such.

Oh and I think PETA are a hilarious satire group against animal loving vegetarian tree huggers.
oh
wait
what?

If we didn't eat so many cows, then they would fart the o-zone layer to smithereens...
Well actually, they already do fart the ozone layer to smithereens, but we let them because we need them cause they're TASTY.

Thing is, if we stopped eating cows, then in 5 years they'd be in Zoo's, as we'd have to KILL NEARLY ALL OF THEM.

Well done PETA, you're not only eco-terrorists, but bad ones.

One thing PETA's also done is billboards with naked women, saying stuff like it's better to go naked than wear fur. They were covered up, but still, seems a little extreme. At least, as far as I know, they don't advocate violence like the ALF.

I thought I met one, but it turned out he was just interested in the nude "Rather be nude-anti fur" ads...

...So the search continues...

I've made it my goal in life to sit down with a PETA member and have a discussion about their ideas. I just want to see what would happen; I can seem infuriatingly calm in a lot of circumstances, which just irritates twitchy people further.

Still, never seen one. Although we apparently have eight in the Escapist at least, according to the poll...

I have, like most people who've wandered through Covent Garden at any given point. They often have a stall set up with leaflets and whatnot, and occasionally they'll make conversation. The only real option in polite society is to take a leaflet or whatever, even if you just throw it in the nearest bin. There's no sense in being rude or aggressive towards them - we should direct our distaste towards the organisation, not the people.

The thing is, their basic message - animal rights - is admirable. It's just that they often go about it in completely the wrong way and make themselves look like nutjobs. I'm all for animal rights - at least, as far as any omnivore, I eat them but I certainly wouldn't advocate unnecessary cruelty - but there's ways of getting the message across that doesn't anger people or make you look stupid.

No but unicorns are much easier to find I found one yesterday. And if I meet a PETA member he would probably start throwing rocks at me.And I don't know why It's the same with hobos, germans and jews.I guess I'd better start making a list. It's probably because I wear a T-shit saying "Hitler was right" my I hate Hobos hat and germans suck gloves for the winter and I have pants that say "Nuke the Whales" and "Animals suck".It might be those but that's not likely.

PETA makes me laugh at their stupidity. Sea Kittens... really? And if I met a PETA member, I'd probably have to punch them in the face.

Their message to treat animal nicely is all good. But the way they do it is bad, like really really bad.

I eat meat because it's what humans have done for the last million years. We are not gonna live without it and vegetarian food is not as good as they make it out to be. You have to eat a lot to get your daily dose.

Btw it's not a coincidence that carnivores are smarter than herbivores. Compare a cat with a bunny. Cats are way smarter because they need to hunt.

So when humans ancestors started to eat more meat we got smarter. Slowly but surely we got an higher IQ.

No telling a person off for expecting flames isn't rude, but snapping at some one for giving you a friendly reply is, maybe with that so called big brain of your's you may have seen that he didn't imply that s/he was flaming or intending to flame but to sit back and read some of the flames that come from forums like this.

I'm not telling you off, I ain't your mum or dad I was commenting on your impoliteness, I read both of your comments and you could have put it in a much better way then insulting some one, personally I don't care if you've studied rhetoric, if you know the secrets of the universe or if you pick up a sword and say "I have the power" you turn into a brick shit house there's no need to be impolite.

You assume I didn't read all the comments before posting, I did but I didn't see anything called for in what you said, the guy/gal even replied apologizing for causing offence and you threw it back at him.

I didn't search this thread out, it appeared on the front page and posted on it, I didn't read the dates, I don't see how it matters on how long ago something was said for me not to have a valid opinion, I think Hitler was a prick yet that was over 60 years ago, but do I not have the right to call Hitler a prick because it happen 60 years ago??.

To be honest I didn't know what you were going to reply with or care, I assumed from reading your post that you've got your head so far up your own arse all you can taste is your own shit, after reading your response it seems I was correct, I replied in order to defend a poster, no one else seemed to feel like defending him/her yet s/he didn't do anything to deserve the response you gave.
so you're a white knight who tries to defend the people from the evil monsters weeks after the monster's attack? i am sure that the person i was arguing with was perfectly capable of doing so him/herself.

you talk about who deserves what and how; what does exactly entitle you to make such self-righteous judgments as that? let me put this as straight and as simple as i can possible convey it: i don't care. i don't care what you think, or what you want me to think or say or do. before you tell someone off - and yes, you are telling me off (for something completely inane even), i'd advise you read up on the forum rules.

thanks for wasting my time by adding your opinion into a closed discussion. i have nothing more to say here.

If you didn't care then you wouldn't replied, you do care, I care that you care if you didn't care then there wouldn't be a point or purpose for me to post nor would there be a point or purpose for you to post, what entitles me to make self-righteous judgements is exactly what entitles you to insult some one for making a friendly comment. I've read the forums rules and I don't see a rule that I'm breaking here.

I'm not being a White Knight, I didn't like what you did and I picked up on it just like you didn't like what s/he said and you picked up on it.

I've encountered someone who said they might become a peta member just to spite their parents, but never encountered a real person who doesn't understand the concept of the food chain peta member

I support PETA, but I'm not a member. I need my meat; I will *not* settle for tofu. But I support animal rights almost as much more than women's rights. Actually, that begs the question: which do you support more: women's rights or animal rights? Do you hate women or animals?

Okay, I've gone far enough with this. I know I offended someone with this comment so I apologize.
