So this movie Paranormal Activity has received some hype over the past weeks or month. I heard plenty of details going into this movie, ranging from "it was soul shattering" to "I didn't see why it was so scary". Reading a few reviews from users on Yahoo I also found that many people would not blame others in the incident they walked out of the theater in tears. Genuinely this sparked my interest being that such a movie would be a delight. After all, a horror movie is a horror movie right?

I will get my opinion entirely aside here. I am going to post the entire viewpoint in spoilers just so no one will accidentally skim over any vital points.

1. Alright, really...WHY did Micah have not even a shred of common sense or understanding of these things? Yeah, buy a Ouija board because a ghost moving keys and bumping its head into the wall merits such an action. And come on...throwing away a picture of your girlfriend which the demon brought from her old house that burnt down INTO THE FIRE alongside with the cross?
2. Okay, the demonologist is out of town on the weekend. Have these people never heard of the Roman Catholic religion and their awesome demon fighting abilities?
3. This ghost had a hard time making a decision. Really...it stood there unsure of what to do for many, many hours.
4. I liked the sounds and the droning noises in the background as it came into the scene.
5. I would have liked some more background info on burned down house of the girlfriend in itself. (Can somebody say sequel time?)
6. The only two parts which actually scared me were: The scene in which Anne looks into the camera and says "I don't want to go...let's stay here..." in that creepy way. Again, Micah was an idiot.

The ending was the second portion of the entire film that scared me. Unfortunately I saw the preview and knew that Micah was going to be thrown into the camera. The scream of Anne in the kitchen or wherever made me frightful for a good moment. I loved how they never showed you what happened and the screams just suddenly end. In my head I wonder if she killed him just a knife or if the demon made her self mutilate, then manifested itself in front of Micah hence the "WHAT THE FUCK!!" part of the screaming monologue.

But yeah, only the ending with the scream, death, throw, all fours crawl, and the lunge at the camera made me jump.

In conclusion, it was a fun movie to watch but not the pants shitting experience I expected.

After reading most of the plot and seeing the trailer. I feel like I may give it a little watch. Does look pretty interesting... better than most other dribble out there.

I've never heard of this movie. Ever.

That should have been an option on the poll.

I really wanted to like this movie. I really did. But I just couldn't bring myself to recommened it to anyone.

-I was nauseaus throughout the whole movie (and shaky cam movies like Cloverfield usually don't make me sick)

-The stupidity of the couple was laughable

-They showed the biggest scare in the fucking trailer (thanks for going down the same root as Quarantine)

-I never jumped once

I would probably only give it about a 6 or 7 and thats low for me.

Nothing has compared to my favorite horror movie of the decade so far.

I was actually scared throughout 2/3 of the movie. I wasn't really thinking about what else they could do or how dumb the guy was(found it funny though) and just let the movie suck me in and it scared the hell out of me. Didn't go to sleep for a long time after seeing it. First good horror flick thats come out in a long while.
