-New consoles come out every. . .let's say 5 years? Give or take, if anybody want's to correct me on this, go right on ahead.
-You have to upgrade your PC every 3 years. . .again, give or take. At least that the span of upgrading I do on my rig.

-You have to download updates for your consoles.
-There's always a downloadable update needed for your PC.

-Consoles have this over PC gaming (for the most part):
-All you have to do is pop the disc in and go at it.
-With the PC you have to install it. . .and most likely patch it.
NOTE: This actually doesn't annoy me at all, but whatever, i'm just making comparisons.

PC gaming has this over Console gaming (everytime):
-Graphics graphics graphics.
-but that just loops back to having to update your pc. At least with consoles, you know your rig can run the game you buy.

There are of course games that are in my opinion built for their systems.
-PC games are far superior in the FPS and RTS category.
-Console gaming is Action Adventure and Fighting genre.
-They're both pretty decent when it comes to RPG, but the RPG gaming are so different between the two. Games like Final Fantasy for the console vs games like Baldurs Gate for the PC.
NOTE: Although you can't match MMO'ing at all. PC wins here. WOW vs FF XI online = WOW wins.

Speaking of online i'd say it's a push. . .erm. . .I lied, I'd lean more towards PC actually. . .it's certainly more free to play on my PC then it is to play on LIVE, and while the arguement can be made that you can play on PSN for free, it's not the most "user friendly" concept out there. lols!

So in making those comaprisons, i'd have to say neither is better? They're both different mediums for the same concept. . .to game. So I guess i'm asking what are everybody elses thoughts? Anything else to add to my little rant?

I prefer PC, but I wouldn't say it is better; Just better suited for me.

So, "They offer different things for different people" is the best choice imo.

I like both. I have to upgrade my PC before I can get Fallout 3 but My 360 keeps me occupied in the mean time.

I play games depending on what kind of experience I want to get(and this changes frequently so I have my options open).

Too many of these threads. Too many flamewars. Please someone close it down.
I really hope it doesn't though. That was not my intention when creating this thread as I am decidedly neutral in the matter. I was just wondering if there are any more comparisons that can be made for and against both gaming methods.

Then why didn't you just post in one of the previous PC vs Console threads that are around?

Would have been a good idea, but I was so into what I was typing that I didn't even think to look around to see if another thread of it's type existed. For that transgression I apologize.

To me the financial market is forcing games to go multiplatform so often I can get the better console games on the PC anyway and the older ones are easily emulated with additional features like save states or rom hacks (kunckles in sonic 1).

My basic 2.6ghz dual core/2 gig ram/9800gtx system already surpases the current consoles so ports if done well work perfectly like Devil MC4 on super high with 100+ Average FPS (resident evil 5 uses the same engine WTW!)

I don't need to check requirments I have more than enought and most of the PC components are easily replaceable and cheap (DVD drive, DDR2 ram, hardrives)
I even have spare hardrives and a external usb dvd drive should the internal fail so no having to relying on microsoft to take 3 weeks to repair it.

Plus I got the pleasure of building it.

I LOVE building a new rig! When I built my first computer I was so giddy to see it start running! LOL! I = nerd

Overall I'd say PC's are better for gaming for almost everything; I prefer to play COD4 and, of course, gears 2 on my 360 though.
