I had two of each. Unfortunatly they all died and I got a dog who has been with my family 5 or 6 years.

Blasphemer! Although they are stupid fuckers. My dog chased a cat for like 20 minutes and when she finally caught it she was just looking at it like "What the fuck do I now" all the other dogs were like "Yeah, what do we do we never got this far" Was brilliant.

But yes BLASPHEMER. I love my dog even though shes thick as pigslurry. They are mans best friend for a reason.

My sister has a cat in university, and it's worked out pretty nicely so far. It isn't so bad.

I'd get a snake though, personally.

That really sucks about your ferret. I'd first find out whether or not I can have a pet of any kind in the dorm (or wherever you're going to live.) Then, get whatever kind of animal you want. I'm a fan of cats and dogs...and snakes...and geckos...and iguanas...

When my cat goes, I'll be quite bent out of shape, but I'll get another. It's not really a "replacement" either. I take good care of my kitteh, and I'll take care of another rescue kitteh well after mine is gone. Just don't get anything from a pet store.
