Short story: Nobody goes to a porn site to learn about social/environmental/political issues. They go to fap.
New PETA slogan: Cum See Our Meat!
......
... OK, that might have been a little too rude...
On the one hand they might get quite a few views from the curious(and people thinking PETA would make beastiality porn...) and on the other hand people might avoid it for the reason I mentioned in brackets.
I doubt either category of people care about the sites message or will be put off if the message is the primary focus, like if people are humping in fake blood to incorporate their views of the food industry... then again, their seems to be a market for live action zombie porn...

All I wonder is what type of porn would the porn site use... Hmm... No, bad thoughts, go away!
OT: If they want to do it, go for it. It probably won't raise awareness though. People don't go to porn sites to learn about new things (well, they do, but nothing beyond sex) or have their beliefs challenged. Anything does that, and I doubt you would have people visiting the site anymore.
I heard Playboy had articles unrelated to sex....... is Playboy even around anymore? I figured Playboy: the Mansion video game was a last ditch effort to avoid being forgotten in this day and age.
