I've spent this entire week jamming out to Florence + The Machine's album Lungs all week, so considering I am the manliest man of all men known to man, no.

Although I did vote yes, manly for the lulz.

BTW i listen to Dido, anyone want to fight about it?
Don't worry, Dido's pretty awesome...

...as long as she's being sampled in an epic rap song! STAN FTW!!!1!!ONE!!.

But I kid, I think she's actually got a nice voice. Not really my kind of thing, though.

You are correct in saying that music is subjective.
Thank you.

However, people's opinions of you are colored by the music you listen to, and therefore is important to real-world me to know if listening to Pink will get me mocked and ridiculed.
But this isn't the real-world, it is the internet, a place in which people hide their true feeling and identities. Besides which how are we to know - attitudes towards music are differing depending on a variety of social factors. I probably don't live anywhere near you - therefore I cannot predict how the people you know may feel about the "situation"... therefore the question is pointless.

So please do not dismiss my question as pointless just because you think it is. I started the post, and so to me the question is not pointless, but very relevant.
If you seriously find this question "important or relevant" then I have to question your age, mental age and intelligence in general. Really, are you so vain that you must ask strangers on a gaming internet forum if listening to a particular music artist makes you "more or less of a man" to help decide how you should feel about it?

By the way, thank you for posting to tell me you think I've started a pointless thread, and then not giving your opinion.
I did give you my opinion. That it's a pointless question...

I wouldn't mind this at all if you had at least said "yes" or "no" at the end of your post. But you didn't, so there really was no point in you chiming in at all.
Maybe not, or maybe it was the most important post on the thread. It's subjective, like musical tastes.

Is it just me or does Florence remind anyone of Siouxsie vocally a lot on that album?

To the OP, listen to what you want, when you want, and if others don't like it that's up to them. Only thing that would make you less of a man is to stop listening just because someone says you should.

EDIT: If anything muse makes you more of a whiney man...
EDIT II: i think the state of texas would like to throw you out now for this question.
Actually i clap for you.

I listen to Enya so i say no.I dose not make you any less of a man.I think it makes you more of a man.If you can take pride in your feminity you are a real man.

Meh, I've recently gotten into Prince. As in a short, rather androgynous guy dressed in purple who frequently moans effeminately in his songs.

One guy tried to give me lip for it. I just laughed and walked away.

I voted yes because I'm a manly man, now I'm gonna go listen to some hair metal
Because hair metal is sooooo manly.

I'm not sure music can actually compromise your masculinity.
because that's the joke

No way man, I friggin love Pink!

In fact, most people I know love Pink, she is just good. Her band is amaaazing and her live shows are pretty damn mind blowing.

Don't worry about liking a pop act, thats the rad thing about music, there is no rule saying "Just because I like this band means I can't like this band." Which is somthing more people should realise.

I voted no thinking you meant pink the colour. It takes a real man to wear pink proudly. Anyway, the artist Pink is manly enough that she has a surplus of manliness to pass onto her male listeners.

Okay, so I'm in a tight spot. Every time I hear Pink's new hits "So What" and "Funhouse", I can't help but jam out to them. But I'm a guy, and firmly against the music usually played on MTV. In fact, Pink is the only singer who I actually kind of like. I usually don't like modern music (80s rock is more my thing), and when I do listen to modern stuff, it's either Muse or the Killers. And yet I find myself inexplicably drawn to Pink. So, my dilemma is thus:

Does liking Pink make me any less of a man?
No. I liked Pink's (I'm not spelling her name with the damn exclamation mark) early stuff to be honest, but I think at this point even Pink doesn't know who the fuck her target audience is. She changes genres as often as the sun rises.

Most of the music I listen to is Rock and Metal, and the song I am touched by the most is Mazzy Star's "Into Dust". Go figure.
omg i cry just listenin to the song btw my mom is called hope too!
i like pink as a sexual object i cant accept her as a serious songwriter inspite of the general concensus who says shes one of the most influential artists of the 90s
when you listen to music its supposed to touch your sensitivities too not just headbanging to it
so the argument is pretty stupid
but for some reason
though shes n not such a young pop artist anymore
i have the impression that her main target group consists of tweens and teenage girls
because of her superficial image and pseudo-punk attitude
on the other hand lisa marie presley and lilly allen among others love her
and i love them
so who am i to judge??
