I thought it'd be nice to have a thread about Playstation that has nothing to do with the recent hack. So, how do you hold/push the shoulder buttons on a Playstation console? Do you use one finger on each hand, or two for the two buttons per side? I'm a 2 finger per hand person, myself, but my brother has always just used his pointing fingers. How do you game?

I use my index fingers for all the shoulder buttons... My fingers are a little big to have them both hanging out on the shoulders, even on X-Box controllers, which are a lot bigger. Also.. the shoulder buttons on the PS3 are so squishy.. As much as I like my controllers, I'd prefer a proper trigger (i.e. The 360 triggers).

Depends on the game, FPSs two finger, most other genres are single

I typically keep both my index fingers at rest between the two buttons on their respective sides with the middle fingers hanging out slightly underneath the triggers just in case. If I'm playing a game that requires more than just RB & LB to be pressed I'll keep both fingers at the ready on both of them.

Been awhile since I've held a PS controller though, so I've gotten spoiled on the 360's one trigger per side mentality.(yeah they've got RB & LB but I see them used so rarely in a 360 game I don't count them as part of the main control scheme)

I use index fingers. Partly if there were no uses for the 2nd lower shoulder buttons, but mostly cause it feels weird to me using middle fingers to press buttons

I use the index fingers for R1-L1 and my middle fingers for R2-L2

to me, it's like if I was born with a Playstation controller on my hands

really, the 360 controller feels too unnatural for me

I never really pay attention to that. It doesn't take me long to get used to the controller. Playing a with N64 seems just as natural as playing PS3 or X-Box. At least it does to me.

Index finger for both shoulders. It feels weird pulling the controller's triggers with my middle finger, so I usually have my indexes there and slide up to the upper shoulders when they're needed.

I use two fingers. Though if the game doesn't require frequent use of those buttons I'll swap to just one if I'm gonna be playing for a while.

I tend to only use my index fingers. But there are times, such as when I played Mirror's Edge, when I used 2 fingers.

Two fingers. I thought that was how everyone did it.

Maybe it's a musician thing, being used to using all my fingers.
