So, I'm straying from console gaming. I'm becoming more at home on Steam than the PSN (we won't mention xbl, we don't speak of that in my world 0_o ).

I'm interested in the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphone though. I suppose it's just how shiny and new it is but I really want it.

Problems:

I'm verizon and I need a $30 a month data plan on top of any txt plan I've got.
If I get it, I'll have one more tie to the console realm that I am beginning to stray from.
While reviews have been good, I don't know if it's a gimmicky phone that is just going to snap when I use it.
I feel that I'm only gravitating toward it due to the gimmick of a 'ps phone'.

Good stuffs:

With the smart phone I'm set when it comes time for Guild Wars 2 to come out and I can use the features Anet has explained.
I get Crash Bandicoot preloaded (along with other games, but really, crash is the shit).
The prestige of having a smartphone (call me simple, but if you have one it shows some techy class).
The battery on my current phone is shit and I'm up for my 2yr contract in July.

Now I have some things to counteract the bad and the good.

As I don't need to have a txting plan to email people's phones like a text, I wouldn't be paying as much.
GW2 won't likely be out until early next year, so one of the reasons I'd be getting a smart phone (with the silly data plan), wouldn't be justified as of yet.
Games that I've already purchased on the PSN wouldn't transfer over to the phone.

Lastly, the Vita is another component. But only slightly as it's 3G version is exclusive to AT&T which I will not switch to due to my family being verizon. But I'd really dig getting one of those which would mean the Xperia gimmick would be pointless to me.

So I'll leave it to the Escapists to tell me what to do.

Sonly is entering the smartphone market, fecal matter has just rapidly manifested into reality. If the graphics are good, it looks like you need to get it, hopefully they'll have some kinda data vault for your saves and junk.

OT:I can get GW2 on there?

Extended Experience will mostly allow for you to help your friends navigate and you'll have access to an auction house or whatever they're calling it. There are more benefits, but those are the two big ones.
