So I recently came back from a trip to my local public libary, which now has a room completely devoted to computers. the books that used to occupy that room are now either cramed into the other rooms or are being sold out of the libary basement by an old women with one normal eye and one milky white one. she creeeps the hell out of me but I digress...

while I was there I visited the room with the computers, two of which have the library database on them (so you can search for books), while I was there I noticed a group of middle school age boys crowded around one of the computers and laughing amongst themselves. Seeing as I have the feline killing curiosity that has lead to lesser men being granted Darwin awards I walked over to see what they were looking at.

it wasn't porn, but there were some topless ladies in the video that they were watching. Apparently it was good enough that they weren?t that aware of their surroundings, and so I was able to walk up behind them without being detected.

I gave a little cough to get their attention...

but the reason for this post is not to discuss the hormonal rages of pubescent school boys. It is about videos or sites that ask you to verify your age before you can watch/enter them. I am reasonably sure that the video the kids were watching had a disclaimer or was on a site that required you to state your age.

So the question is?

Do you truthful give your age when a website or video requires it to view their content?

This really only applies to people under 18, 16, 17, whenever the cut off age is for one of these videos

If your old enough now, did you tell a little white lie when you were younger and fudge your age?

And what was the craziest thing you have ever watched that was behind a "please state your age screen"

Well i dont lie as I dont have to, but i lie because I CBF putting my age in, i just move the year down far enough and click submit.

Before i was 18 i always put my date as 1/1/(insert random legal year here) and i still do.

I usually type type in / select anything just in order to get to the content more quickly.

In fact, with drop down menus for the selection of the year, i tend to appear younger than i actually am, since scrolling down to 1981 takes longer than to, say, 1990. I'm curious if websites that preset the age in those menus to 1/1/current year have a statistic for the dates entered - you wouldn't beleive how many people are born on January, 1st

That said, although i know about the legal necessarity for such age "verification" measures, i find them first of all annoying, and i'm glad Gametrailers finally checks the user account for the birth date so i don't have to enter it every time.

Yep, I remember when my niece was born at the Brookings Medical Clinic Memorial Strip Bar.

Unless you're bottle-fed, when you're born, one of the first things you get to see (after the inside of a vagina) is an exposed breast. You get that nipple thrust right up in your face and then you're expected to suck on it. Then for the next 18 years of your life, your crazy country does its best to make sure that you never get to see that nipple ever again, because it might "damage" you or "desensitise" you somehow. I lie all the time because putting my ACTUAL Birthday in there takes too long. Other than that, I AM 25, so it doesn't matter...
