My brother got Ruby, and I got Sapphire, so we are continuing this tradition. Did the same thing with Silver and Gold.

I'm getting both, yet I'm playing Omega Ruby first since the OG3 Ruby was the first Pokemon game I bought/played to "completion"... Sure, I'm still miffed that there's no Gamma Emerald to look forward to, at least both games are different enough to warrant playing through them on their own merits, I guess...
Depends if they have as many double battles as Emerald, sorely underused in random battles in last 3 gens.
