Ye Gods! Just thought about the Water Temple and the icy slope/moving spikes RIGHT in front of the boss door. Hated that part! Anyways its a close call between Spirit and Shadow. Loved the atmosphere in the Shadow Temple. I'll go with Shadow then.
Spirit. I love fighting Iron Knuckles and Twinrova is (are?) my favorite boss in the game. I love the design of the Forest temple, though.
The one I hated wasn't even a true temple. It was that ice-covered cave. Everything will freeze you there and you're constantly slipping around on the ice.

I thought the Water Temple was great, dunno why everyone bitches about it.

I enjoyed the Water temple the most, purely for it's drastic change from the other temples. The switches weren't too daunting as long as you remember what level everything was in as well as what level the water had risen to.
Also, remembering which key goes in which door helps.
I didn't have too much trouble on the water temple itself but that bastard boss at the end.. God I hated that thing.

Fire was my favorite until they decided that they had to remove the vocal track from subsequent ports because it offended a few anal-retentive Muslims who can't handle a vocal track. That was the temple that had the most atmosphere in my opinion. I'd have to say that the Shadow temple was an incredibly huge letdown for me.

Shadow Link and the really easy boss fight were the only redeeming features of the Water Temple, and its proximity to the fishing pond

I vaguely remember the temples since it was so long ago that I played it, but the very first thing that popped into my head when I read the title of this thread was NOT THE WATER TEMPLE! God I remember absolutely hating that temple. It was very well designed but hard as hell for me! I also disliked the shadow temple.
I chose the fire temple but like I said I only have vague memories of any of them.

Water temple wasn't all that bad in my opinion, it just had that uncommon habit of forcing players to look up. Or maybe that's just my experience with it, I developed a habit of mentally mapping out games in early childhood.
Most annoying to me was the Shadow temple, having to have that energy-drain of an item constantly on hand just so I wasn't wasting arrows in a boss fight or occasionally losing some health from timing blind jumps wrong.
Favorite was the Forest temple though. Decent challenge (especially bombchu bowling for spiders), some nice puzzles, and great music.

You know, I hear a lot of people complain about the water temple (the clinging complaining dipshits that they are), but does it not represent everything a dungeon is supposed to be? IE a confusing maze-like labyrinth with various puzzles and traps to confuse adventurers?
It wasn't my favourite, I just get tired of the complaining; esp since most people are real assholes about it too. You know someone put a lot of work into designing that temple, you pricks! And really they can't win with you people 'cause if they'd made it too easy you'd have complained about that too!
