'No, but yea, but no, but yeah, but no, but yeah, but no, but yeah.' (strangely) is the closest option to my answer. I like polls as they allow you to gather the opinions of others without them repeating the same words in several posts and allows us to compare the results better.

Then we have polls like this one, which aren't serious, could be summed up with three options instead of eight and are really very pointless.

I do comprehend the joke and I do realise that this thread has a point. What I think you don't realise is that this threads point is too insult people. It may not be directly insulting, sure, but it is clearly a jab at a large amount of people on the forum.

If you have a problem with polls I feel that you should present that opinion in a clear and precise way so that you are not talking down to them but rather treating them as equals. I fully understand that the amount of polls is getting to be a real pain in the arse, I notice them everyday, but I would never construct a thread that treats anybody on this forum as lower class citizen.

If this was clear and precise I would have no problem. I would disagree sure, but slightlt admire the honesty and desire to stand up to what you view as a problem. Making a satirical thread is making fun of those who don't even realise they are the cause for laughter. It does nothing but insult people.
I will treat others as equals when they are equal. They are not. Can you honesty say that since Lord Krunk posted their own view of what they consider the forum quidelines should be that there has been any, and I mean any, improvement in the threads?

Some learn from wise words and some learn from being belittled to the point that they must change to avoid the insult. You have to learn which weapon is appropriate for which situation, and in the case of talking to a bunch of people who continuously don't listen to sound advice then you must break them. Destroy their very being and pound them into the ground.

Or just make a satirical thread and hope they can see the error in their way and have a bit of a laugh at the same to, whatever gets the job done I guess.

Red.

Any other answer is wrong
Prove it.
Because red is a color in Orange, and Valve made a game called the Orange Box, which pwns all.
Ok.. Red isn't a colour in Orange. infact... that.... just doesn't make sense. also my copy of The Orange Box has more black, blue and tan kind of colours than orange.

Banana.
Red + Yellow = ?

I rest my case.

Also, this poll poll poll is rather pointless albeit semi-entertaining. But at least it plays blu ray

A recent poll has shown that most people consider polls to be unrepresentative of popular opinion.

If the poll says so, it must be true.
hehe. You just made my day.

Oh no I think the entire point of the thread is to make people go like this:
The point of the thread is to take a stab at the current amount of poll threads and show how pointless they are.

Here are a couple of real involved threads that benefitted from having a poll.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.131182
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.131330
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.131318
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.131297
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.131222
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.131178

As you may notice from these examples, the poll has either pointless answers like mine or the poll has no impact on the discussion within the thread.

EDIT: Here is an example of a functional, appropriate poll thread.

You're asking a why question, and giving us "Yes" and "No" answers?

Go directly to jail.

Also, go die in a corner. I hate polls because of you.

[small]What were you talking about in the first post, by the way?[/small]

EDIT2: THE POINT OF THIS POINT IS SATIRICAL, TAKE NOTE THAT THE POLL IS POINTLESS AND DOES NOT RELATE TO ANYTHING IN THE ORIGINAL POST NOR DOES IT AID IN ANY KIND OF DISCUSSION. THIS IS ALL TO COMMON OF WHAT MANY POSTERS THESE DAYS ARE DOING WITH THEIR POLLS.
Polluting in order to make the point that other people are polluting is still pollution. This isn't satire and this isn't funny...it's just more of the same problem.

I know very well what satire is, good sir. Jonathan Swift is satire. Joseph Heller is satire. Stephen Colbert is satire. This is not satire.

&nbsp&nbsp Hello wall, how are you today?

wikipedia said:
Satire: noun. In satire, human or individual vices, follies, abuses, or shortcomings are held up to censure by means of ridicule, derision, burlesque, irony, or other methods, ideally with the intent to bring about improvement. Although satire is usually meant to be funny, the purpose of satire is not primarily humour in itself so much as an attack on something of which the author strongly disapproves, using the weapon of wit.

A very common, almost defining feature of satire is its strong vein of irony or sarcasm, but parody, burlesque, exaggeration, juxtaposition, comparison, analogy, and double entendre are all frequently used in satirical speech and writing. The essential point, however, is that "in satire, irony is militant". This "militant irony" (or sarcasm) often professes to approve (or at least accept as natural) the very things the satirist actually wishes to attack.
I do not wish to discuss the meaning of satire with you any further.

If you stare really hard at a rock for ages it's still just a rock.

You are looking to deep.
I beg to differ, I stared at a rock once and it turned into a koala bear (not a koala, it was a cross-breed between a grizzly and a koala). Another time it turned into a sapphire while i starred at it during a storm. COINCIDENCE, I THINK NOT!!!

You know that doesn't discourage us, right? In any way, shape or form. Your suffering is a sweet, well matured wine with just a hint of cherry in the palate served with a fine roast of Powertrip.

This thread rules. If I didn't suck so hard at Photoshop I'd make a "Yo Dawg" pic to go along with it.

Yo dawg, I heard you like polls, so I put a pole in your poll so you can poll while you pole.
