God, it's been years since I've played a new, really, really good RPG.

Or maybe I've just got my Retro-Vision goggles on when I think about how much fun Final Fantasy 6(3, whatever) and it's predacessors was, along with games like Chrono Trigger and Secret of Evermore.

FFX and FF XII had thier moments so did Lost Oddyssy, but they weren't really *good*.

Oh well.

Really, I don't care about most of the things in this list. I do know that I prefer a good guy protagonist over an anti-hero: I had a heck of a time with God of War simply because Kratos is a complete douchebag. I find it hard to care about the story and the character when I despise the guy.

Anyway, I'm all for any gameplay style, as long as it's done well. I just want a good story that's fun to experience; I don't care how.
