There's a lot of controversy surrounding the release of L4D2, as many of the people who bought the original L4D expected free DLC, and feel that VALVe is cheating them by asking them to buy a sequel instead.
So, L4D owners, will you buy L4D2?

Please go easy on me- this is my first thread.

If I have the money for it I probably will. Unless TOR randomly happens to be out. If it is then I forsake all games except SWTOR.

Probably, I never thought L4D was too "shallow" or anything else some people are accusing it of being.

My theory is, if you don't read into the release of games and find out that there's "supposed" to be loads of cool stuff in it. You won't be dissappointed if the said "cool stuff" is lacking.

Doesn't seem different enough to me to warrant buying it, maybe if its on sale in future or if my mates all get it I'll but it though.

I'll wait until it goes on sale, since it seems at the moment to be only items worthy of being considered Downloadable Content.

I will when either:
a) I see the content is worth the full price of the game (unlike L4D 1)
b) It comes down in price so the cost is justified for a half a game (like L4D 1)

I won't if either of those are not satisfied.

Nah I wasn't a big fan of the first one, but maybe the melee weapons will convince me otherwise.

It'll obviously depend on the quality of the product, but I doubt Valve will screw this up, so I'm going with yes.

Oh Escapist, I have missed you so much! Let's never part ways again.

"Maybe"

Only tried the original once, so I'm not into the whole L4D hype-thingy... Yet. Might change with the second one.

I will once it becomes cheap enough. I waited for quite a while before I got the original - and I'll wait quite a while for this one. Unless it has a LOT more content than the original. The original only had 4 maps...... which was worth drastically reduced price I paid for it.

If the sequel only has 4 maps, well, I'll be waiting for it to be discounted severely.

I don't understand why people are so angry about this: L4D1 did have free DLC. Valve never promised a bucket load of it, and they still have time to add more onto it if they want (although they probably won't). If you don't like it..... seriously - don't buy it.

I like games too, but to get so indignant over a....... video game...... is a little bit immature. Don't like it? Don't think it's worth it? Think valve is screwing you over (which people are entitled to think), then..... spend your money elsewhere. No one is holding a gun to your head demanding that you buy it. You do realize that, right? That you DON'T have to buy it? That, as a consumer in a free market society (as most of you probably are), you..... have..... a...... choice! Yeah.

So - if you don't like it. Don't buy it. Simple really. If enough gamers walk out on Valve that will make them reconsider things. But if enough gamers support Valve then they will continue. Paying for a game doesn't give anyone the right to demand Valve satisfy their every wish, or indeed, ANY WISH. Because when you pay for the game, you are buying...... the game! Nothing else. You aren't buying rights in Valve's company.
