You can think whatever you like. But Valve wont see it that way. Game developers would want you to buy new games instead of used; just as car dealers would want you to buy new cars instead of used.Sober Thal said:Isn't it the same as trading it in at a used game store tho? ^This. Also, how is the gamepad a plus when we're talking FPS mechanics? Maybe I'm missing something, but the mouse trumps it by far from where I'm standing.Woodsey said:Considering the specs of the rest of your laptop, the graphics card can't be that bad.
PC easily. Especially considering how well optimised the Source engine is. And its cheaper on PC.
what is this? what makes the PC version not guaranteed to look great? idk what your talking about.Chrono212 said:PC Con:

Again, looking great out of the box... this makes no sense. Not an actual point.Chrono212 said:Xbox Pro:
- It will look great out of the box
- XBL co-op would have the majority of friends
- Game pad (I'm not buying a wired one for the PC)
again how could portal 2 not look good on this system... Idk where u got the idea that it "won't look as good on pc" when your pc outclasses your xbox by about 3 years worth of technological development. Perhaps it won't run at 60fps at max settings, but the xbos ver will be stuck on mid-low level settings and still only put out 30fps.Chrono212 said:PC specs:

I beleive they'll require you to link your steam account with the PS3/PSN account. I think.mysecondlife said:You can think whatever you like. But Valve wont see it that way. Valve is generous towards PS3 owners with digital copies of the game. But there has to be some kind of restriction that binds PS3 copies to the digital.
I can see this - for any of us who've managed all the gold achievements in the original Portal . . . the game literally became a CAKEwalk. TBH, I think I actually spent more time working on figuring out how to accomplish the gold achievements than I did any other portion of the game. Actually, come to think of it, I believe (IIRC) I got through the "campaign" in a matter of a few hours in one play through.guyroxorz said:I've always thought it was easier to do the harder maps on the PC due to the higher speed that you can aim at, however arguably taht makes the pc version easier. I would say if youre up for a challenge xbox, but as you said there are mods and more people to coop with on the pc so it really depends which one you value more!

And another thing... What receiver are you talking about?
That's the thing, I've never heard that sound byte. I've only heard the million others where he complains about how hard it is to make ps3 games.MysticToast said:Gabe Newell actually did turn around and end up praising PS3 and saying Xbox Live is a trainwreck....GonzoGamer said:I remember hearing about that. If that's the case I'll get the ps3 version but I'll probably just play it on the pc anyway and lend out the ps3 copy.
Honestly, that's the only way I'll get the ps3 version. After hearing them complain for years about how hard it is to make games for the ps3, I'm still not convinced the ps3 version won't be a complete mess.
