So Portal 2 unlocked on Steam for the many people who pre-ordered it on said digital platform, I remember the retail store I preordered Portal 2 at but forgot to cancel once I pre-ordered on Steam called me up and said that the game was ready to be released and I should go get it.

So anyway I am playing through it and just find it AWESOME, the writing and puzzle solving that makes you feel like a genius contributed to this factor somewhat.
But I want to hear what you think!

I'm up to chapter... 4, I think?
What scares me is that there was a review up within about 2 hours of the release. If the game is seriously as short as the first one, I will be PISSED. 2-3 hours is far too short for a game. 5 or 6 is where it becomes acceptable >.>
Anyway, I've already noticed a fair few flaws, like some direct copy/pasta of levels from the first game, just with some weeds chucked in. However, for the most part it's looking pretty good :3

And the start was fucking awesome. The little intro thing at the start, and then "You have been asleep for-- 99999999999999". That was one of the most awesomely jarring things I've ever heard.

My thoughts?
I only played it briefly the other week at Kapow! Con, but it was good fun. Just more Portal, really.

Worth picking up, which I will on UK instore release day.

Not as good as Portal, but still great.

I especially liked the choice of Story and Narrative over Puzzles. Yes, this caused the puzzles to be really dumbed down and much easier than the Original. But focusing more on the story - in my opinion - was a step in the right direction.

PS : Mobility Gel = The defenition of "fun".

I think valve intentionally copy/pasted some levels so that you could see just how long you've been out. If there is one thing I think valve shines most in, its showing atmosphere through level design, Portal 2 is no exeption.

Loving it.I just dont like the loading screens,I think the ones in portal were better because they didnt break up the story as much.Right now I'm slowly replaying it with commentary.
Also the coop is absolutely amazing.

imo its the best game on the source engine. if skyrim wasnt getting released this year i would name it game of the year. it took me some where around 9 hours to do the single player and i would say that is a pretty good length for a puzzle platformer.

Street date was broken in a lot of places. Some reviews were up literally the second it was released on Steam. I'm at least four hours in myself and it looks like there's quite a bit to go still.
It took me eight hours on the single player alone and co-op isn't that much shorter (bear in mind I played it with my barely seven year old brother), which was satisfyingly substantial. Also, if you have the PC version, you have the level editor to mess around with.
Trust me, you won't be dissapointed.

Oh, and the copypasta thing only lasts for the first (and shortest) act.

I'd never played portal one, until i decided about a week ago on a lark to try both game. (a steamcombo). Played the first game first, and it was great. Then played the second and LOVED it. IMO, 2 is better then 1. I just, has more stuff to do, with gels, lightbridges, catapolts, ect.

A thumbs up from me.

You know... i've heard others say this, about the puzzles in 2 being easier, but, from my noobish proprestive, they weren't. There was nothing in portal 1 that just stumped me. I pretty much got through it my very first try, with a few rough spots, but it was all good.

Portal 2, it wasn't what i'd consider "HARD" but there were at least 2, maybe 3 maps that left me really scratching my head. 1 map i accually had to give up on, for the night, i never cheated in portal by looking up a play guide, something i'm a tad proud of... never was much of a puzzle gamer. LOL. But i had to come at it the next day with a freash mind and it still had me stumped for about 40 mins.

IMO, the second game was slightly harder, if only for that one puzzle that had me nearly beat.

I really loved Portal 2.

Buuut I didn't like what they did to GLaDOS. She was a lot more threatening in Portal, and a lot more memorable. Enough with the fat jokes, please. Her dialogue was atrocious in some places and it really hurt to see her like that. All her "dark humor" was just childish and embarrassing, and the rest of her humor seemed to have transfer into Wheatley, who was by far the most hilarious character.

I didn't like how the game didn't incorporate much in the realm of alluding to the fact that it takes place within the Half-Life universe. Yes, there's the achievement where you "Find the missing experiment," but that's all, really. Disappointed in that too.

Still, the puzzles were awesome in every definition of the word. Spectacular. Not only that, but Cave Johnson, Wheatley, and especially the Space Sphere are three really great new characters. The atmosphere was great, the music was awesome, and the storyline was pretty good too. You can tell that Valve had fun with this.

Again, really really love Portal 2.

Not perfect, but still good.

Masterful game, puzzles were awesome, fair yet challenging, the first games puzzled seemed a little be more ruthless than this ones. Awesome awesome game play though, enjoyed every second. Story was sublime, and it doesn't sag as much in the middle as people were saying, if anything its like 2 games in one. You go from one setting with its own characters, and unique puzzle elements to a completely new one half way through, I loved that.

The finale! Brilliant, only something Valve could do.

Only gripe out the game is lack of additional challenges/leaderboards, where is the temptation to speed run tests, or even be able to get to individual tests without going through half a chapter first. And a level editor or at least extra levels. Hope they are on the way!

Im am of an opinion that a POLL asking for THOUGHs is a bit misleading.

However i will currently stay silent with my "opinions" because i dont have any real ones about this game.

Why? I havent played it or Portal. Still waiting for it from gamefly.

I will say this tho, a game 2 hours long is no matter what not worth more than a few $. for me to buy a game and consider it worth buying, 50-100+ is REQUIRED.

I have quite a bit of intrest in this game but likley by the time i play it the fanbases will have already created a new meme and managed to do it to death.

watched or really just listened to the single player walk throughs tho... it does seem to have some very funny stuff. the puzzles dont look challanging at all tho and i found myself repeatedly angry at the stupidity of the idoit who recorded the videos i was watching...
