I was going for Ravenclaw, giving every answer as Ravenclawy as possible, but instead I got to choose from Hufflepuff, Gryffindor or Slytherin.

Wtf?

My username is FangGold25657. I'm in Ravenclaw. Wand is chestnut, phoenix feather, hard, 10 [sup]3[/sup]/[sub]4[/sub] inches. I consider myself well-satisfied.

I couldn't put up with it long enough to find out. The minute I clicked on something in chapter 1 I closed the window. Thank goodness I signed up with my spam e-mail account so I don't have to worry about going back and trying to undo sign-up.

Props to people who enjoy it - I'm not hating on it, it just didn't rub me the right way.
I'm bummed for you. Also. I love your avatar, haha.

I'm getting the strange feeling that there should be a Pottermore group, where the escapist can keep track of usernames.

Better yet, they should just link it to Facebook. That way I can click the add friends button and be done with it.
That would be way too convenient. I wish Pottermore had circles like google+ (does anyone remember that?) so I could put all the escapists in a group...

Looks like Ravenclaw is the least numerous house in Pottermore, but we're still in second place for the House Cup. Excellent. Figures that we'd be losing to Slytherin, though...

since its free, i'm satisfied with what i got, but i hope they expand more on classes and whatnot. dueling is too easy and potions take forever.

Ugh I'm complete garbage at dueling. And potions is buggy as fuck on my stupid macbook single button click thing. You can definitely tell they're going to add tons of stuff in the future though; it's only in beta right meow.

Did anybody get a toad? Or did we all go with cats and owls?
Ravenclaw prides itself on accepting all sorts, so of course I'd never mock anyone who brought a toad. I would, however, be intensely curious about their choice. I went with a barn owl, myself.

Named: GalleonElm8569... Being named money-tree, how fantastic! Nobody can make jokes about my name now!
Got placed in Ravenclaw.
11 1/4 Unyielding wand in Sycamore, core: Unicorn, a really tiny one I suppose.

I Read he first book along side this to see how well it goes, i have to say was very, VERY impressed, Not good for a first read since it breaks up the flow a lot but it does add quite alot, my 25 year old self thought it was very good, my 12 year old self would have shit bricks.

Gryffindor here, holly with dragon heart-string, 14 and a half inches and supple... Beast of a wand apparently.

I had reach...

I picked a toad because I'm a biology student who thinks that weird animals like them are cute, and I had an inkling that most people would go for a cat/owl. Plus in five years time when toads are all the rage I can put on my hipster glasses "I liked toads before they were mainstream" ;-)

OT: Got the e-mail allowing me in this morning, ended up getting sorted into Hufflepuff which was a little disappointing since it's always struck me as an "...and the rest" type house for anyone who doesn't meet the criteria for the other houses, though I guess I'm quite a moderate person which was reflected in my answers.

Well, potions making sure is ...challenging. Which is a good thing, I like it. I'm pretty impressed with what I've seen of Pottermore so far.

My username is CatCrimson3333, I chose it largely because the quadruple threes made it the most tolerable of all the options.

I'm in Ravenclaw, and my wand is Ebony with a Phoenix feather core, twelve and a quarter inches, surprisingly swishy.

I was wondering how Rowling was going to squeeze more money out of the Harry Potter teat.
Except... it's free. Unless you want to buy e-books, but they aren't going to force you to.
It's bringing the Harry Potter brand back into the spotlight. This has many effects including

Raising book sales
Having a platform to launch new HP products

It's all about money.
If it was all about the money, J.K would have been continuing to write more knock-off sequels. Believe it or not, some people actually do things because they want to be nice.

Harry Potter is probably the last book in the entire world that needs to be in the spotlight. It will likely remain one of the most well known pieces of literature for decades to come. They don't need more publicity.
Maybe book sales will rise during the release of this website but so what? Nobody is forcing you to do it, if people buy a book it's because they actually want to read it. If they made you pay for a subscription (which I guarantee many other people would do) then you might be able to make an argument. But it's free. The fact someone out there might buy one of the books is irrelevant.

J.K is the richest Woman on the planet. Giving a blanket statement of "it's always about the money" simply doesn't apply to her. What the hell is she going to spend it on?

Has she carved her name onto the moon with a giant laser? I know that's what I'd do.

I got into Gryffindor. Spiffy.

Finally got into it via my laptop. The controls aren't greatly intuitive; I felt like I was fighting it rather than exploring. It's interesting to read all the little insights offered. That's probably (at least part of) the reason this is a thing...

Anyway, I got: Hufflepuff, Harlequin Toad, 12" Sycamore w/ Dragon Core (Surprisingly Swishy).[footnote]AKA: The "COME AT ME, BRO" Collection. :p[/footnote]

It's weird how close the description of the average Hufflepuff member is to my personality. I guess that hat DOES know what it's on about...
