I have 4 accounts so I can get all the house specific information
First time I tried for Slytherin and ended up there :3
Second time I tried for Gryffindor and got into Hufflepuff
Third time I tried for Gryffindor and got into Gryffindor
And I'm still waiting for my fourth registration email

I cant find the sorting hat...I dont want to "explore" chapters..I want sorting hat!

You'll have to play through the chapters to get to the sorting hat, but you can run through them pretty quickly by pressing the 'next' button

I'm loving the potion brewing, but my biggest complaint is that a potion will take an hour to brew, and award like 15 points. While doing duels for the same amount of time will award me like ten times the points.

And yeah, it seems like petrificus totalus is the best spell for dueling (of the ones I've found)

I agree. I'm not sure why, but it seems to be way better than any of the others.

...Maybe I just lack the necessary skill?

EDIT: My cauldron exploded. I think I'm going to go back to brewing the cure for boils...

What happened with Pottermore? I went on it, got put in Gryffindor and then everything just seemed to... stop. Duelling wasn't working, potion making was limited and the CoS wasn't open yet. It it properly up and running now then?

Chamber of Secrets hasn't opened up yet. It will on an "undisclosed date" according to Pottermore Insider, as informative as that is...

I know. The pouring is so ridiculously sensitive. One time I got really annoyed and I just threw everything into the cauldron and set it on fire. I think I lack patience.

Personally I found that in trying to make the herbicide I had to be incredibly careful to not accidentally drop stuff in the cauldron while I brought it to the mortar. Perhaps that's the problem?

That has happened to me before, but I am literally doing it exactly the same way each time and keep screwing up for different reasons. Like, it keeps telling me the temperature is wrong or I added too much of something even though I am literally 100% certain I didn't...

I dunno what you do with the pouring but what I found works best is clicking on the top of whatever bottle it is, and using the side of the cauldron to control how much comes out. At first I just clicked on teh bottom and held the bottle over the cauldron, didn't work out so well >.>

Yeah after my fifth failure I started to get my pouring technique down. Also, am I the only one that can;t brew more than one potion at once? I have more than one cauldron and it seems to insinuate you can brew more than one at a time, but it won't let me.

yup, no matter how many cauldrons you have you can only brew once at a time :/

Also when I make a potion I usually print screen and paste the instructions into paint, keep that open to the side of firefox so I don't have to annoyingly keep clicking on the recipe.

That was possibly me(when I voted it said I was first to vote Hufflepuff), but I don't see what is so wrong with being in Hufflepuff. I see nothing wrong with being someone who is loyal and trustworthy if not very quiet. But I guess it's because of that whole assumption that Hufflepuffs are bland and dumb.

Just kidding, just kidding. I mean Tonks was a Hufflepuff and she was pretty neat. Cedric wasn't too bad either.

I couldn't put up with it long enough to find out. The minute I clicked on something in chapter 1 I closed the window. Thank goodness I signed up with my spam e-mail account so I don't have to worry about going back and trying to undo sign-up.

I see nothing wrong with being someone who is loyal and trustworthy if not very quiet. But I guess it's because of that whole assumption that Hufflepuffs are bland and dumb.

Well people tend to like to be considered smart or cunning or brave. Hardworking is nice, but just doesn't have the same appeal. At least for me.

Well I can kind of understand that view, though to me hard work can lead to any of those.

I think most of that may come from some under-exposure which makes it more difficult to be as lauded as the other houses are. Plus much of the material that popped up when I got my house said that Hufflepuffs are very modest, even if they pull off amazing feats akin or rivaling other houses they just don't want or seek the attention. That is a good or bad thing depending how you look at it.

I usually see it as hard working leading to the same result as natural talent, but that not being the same as having said natural talent.

Well I'll probably take what the house intros say with a grain of salt. Of course they'll talk about their accomplishments. Like the Slytherin one saying: ". You've been chosen by this house because you've got the potential to be great, in the true sense of the word. All right, you might see a couple of people hanging around the common room whom you might not think are destined for anything special. Well, keep that to yourself. If the Sorting Hat put them in here, there's something great about them, and don't you forget it."

Of course, having the natural talent is better for a lot of people. But hey different people, different strokes.

Yeah, but it's not just the opening letter, some more neutral materials I've found say that as well. But really it comes down to the person themselves. The house is really just for some fun competition and a teensy bit of insight into the house you are put in.

That's the biggest thing Pottermore lacks in my opinion. Some sort of messaging system.
