Preorder bonuses which affect game balance in any way are more likely to cause me to never get the game than to preorder it. They are a sign of the developers thumbing their nose both at the player and the experience, and/or thinking their game sucks so much that preorders are their best chance at selling.
I generally only preorder when there is a realistic chance of a game (edition) which I want running out. Merely being dead certain that the game will be good is not a reason for me to preorder it.
