I know you've all seen the comercials, now I'm asking. Have you ever pre-ordered from GameStop just for the in-game perks. I've thought about it, but said fuck it and decided not to pre-order.

Extra content for the same price is a good deal, generally. Sometimes it's not worth it, but to me it usually has been.

for PC? if so then dont ever bother as you could use the command console to get the in-game perks.

if its for the console then yes, because...well rather oblivious as you are limited to what can customised

I just recently preordered the Fallout New Vegas Collectors edition. Sooo yes I do sometimes if it's a game I really want.

I've never pre-ordered but I did buy a couple of games new for the benefit as opposed to my usual method of getting pre-owned.

Nope, not anymore. Pre-ordering only hurts gaming as it places emphasis on day 1 sales mattering. Thus marketers will work towards fooling you that a game is worth the purchase before it is out. As well, it means that publishers want stricter and stricter DRM only to guarantee early sales as those are the only ones that matter.

If a game is worth buying after a few weeks, then it is a good enough game for me to get.

No. While I like to wait to know the game does not suck its mostly because I am primarily a PC gamer and can download games now.

I pre ordered Dragon Age to get the Blood Dragon Armor for Mass Effect 2, then I preordered Mass Effect 2 to get the Black Hole gun. I also pre ordered Fall Out: New Vegas and Crackdown 2.

I pre order stuff pretty regularly and GameStop is close to my house so there you go. Knock on wood but they have never screwed up one of my orders yet.

I refuse to pre-order anything. These little plastic discs games come on are mass manufactured and you'll be EXTREMELY unlikely not to get a particular title on opening day, well at least where I live. I do find it annoying they restrict goodies to pre-order customers. It's like they say, "have faith that the game will be good and buy it before anyone can review it and reveal what the actual quality is and we'll give you some junk." How bout no.

My thoughts exactly, right up until the moment I tried to buy Borderlands on release day - apparently I wasn't the only one to twig it was a cool game.

I preorder games to make sure I get them on day 1 and occasionally get special editions and whatnot. Call me crazy, but it always works out for me.

When it's a game I'm going to buy anyway (like Mass Effect 2) then why not???

Huh I guess I'm lucky enough to have 3 Gamestops and 2 Best Buy's between work and home. If I realllly want something chances are good at least one of those stores will not be sold out.

I pre-ordered from Gamestop exclusively for the Blackhole Gun for Mass Effect 2. I remember that commercial, it was pretty funny. (I think it's still up on Youtube)

It's weird but Gamestop tends to have the better pre-order deals (or the only pre-order deal) compared to other companies.
