So I have this little one credit class that I am required to show up to once a week, and we do various small projects and other things.

One of my projects is due tomorrow, and it has to be an in-person interview with someone who I don't know that is in the business field. The interview is supposed to be basically getting to know a position like HR/Accounting/Management.

So after trying to find an interview all day I finally landed one, but it won't happen till Thursday morning. The assignment is due Wed at midnight. To be dropped into an online dropbox.

I'm debating whether I should:

A: Fill out the paper on the interview before even doing the interview, the paper is only 2 pages anyways and is a complete joke. Then turn it in Wed on time.

B: Turn the paper in midday Thursday after doing the interview. If that doesn't work because the dropbox is closed, try to tell the teachers that the online wasn't working very well and turn it in; in person.

The thing is I have to do this assignment since all projects are mandatory in this pass/fail course. The other thing is there is no latework allowed generally. The other thing is if I turn in a thing saying I had an interview, and the professor checks in and I haven't I am being academically unhonest which can get me thrown out and banned from all UW universities.

I am having this interview so the question really is, do I turn it in ontime but BS the paper and risk them checking in too soon.

Or do I turn it in late risking a 0 and failing the course, but not risking getting expelled. However small that risk might realistically be.

If I were you, I'd talk to my teacher and fill him in on the situation.

Then you can either:

a) Get permission to write the paper anyway, without the interview. = No academic dishonesty.
b) Get permission to hand in later. = No problem
c) Not get permission, fail the project.

However, unless your teacher is absolutely mental (c) will not happen. You can prove that you have an interview scheduled on Thursday, then you can write it during the day and hand it in late Thursday / early Friday.

Unless your class consists of five people, odds are he won't have time to correct all the reports he's handed until then anyways.

As a general rule, the earlier you flag for this sort of thing the better.

Hope that was helpful ^_^
