This includes more people than you would think. The child of a prostitute is a pimp (legally) if the food they eat was bought using funds from prostitution. If a man's wife is a prostitute, then if they file for taxes together, it is pimping.Maze1125 said:Most prostitutes are forced into it by circumstance or some bastard.
Punishing people who are already at the lowest point of their life seems rather pointless.
So no, being a prostitute shouldn't be illegal.
On the other hand, visiting a prostitute, or being a pimp, should be.
I say legalize it, and wrote a 4 page essay on it a year or so ago.
And in response to the many questions I will get: Yes, I would be okay with my daughter being a prostitute, though I would not be happy with it for two reasons, unrelated to the job:
1)It is a low pay job. Hourly, you're making a killing, but considering you don't work a standard 9-to-5 job as a prostitute, you don't really make that much.
AND
2)Considering I'm going into teaching, I would expect any child of mine to go into a job that requires knowledge. Prostitution is a low-qualification job.
Are you're saying your daughter isn't pretty enough to be a prostitute? How cruel.
Your legal definition is jack-sh*t here when we're talking common sense, which blows away your absurd, stringy straw man argument. The old, flawed definition means nothing when we're debating what the law SHOULD BE.
I hope you get swine flu.
...
Go with Christ.
I intend to teach. I like knowledge. I want a son/daughter who appreciates knowledge as well. Being a prostitute does not require much knowledge at all.
Also, saying "Go with christ" doesn't change the fact that you wished physical harm upon me, which is tantamount to a threat of violence.
