Im going to get a new ps3! except im not sure which hard drive to get, Im not putting films on it or anything im just saving games and stuff.

A guy at the shop told me that the 250 is only worth getting if your goanna put movies and stuff on it.....sounds good but they only had 120's in stock so im a little suss that he was just trying to sell me the 120.

so what would I be best of getting?

If you need more than 120 GB...You aren't a master of memory manipulation. I manage with just a 20GB hard drive on my 360. You surely don't use all DLC you get at once, do you?

250. If you can get it, you might as well, its only a fraction more expensive than the 120 version afterall.

I've lived with my 20GB for nigh on two years, and I'm finally upgrading to 120GB. I'm tired of having to delete, download, delete and redownload everything I pay for.

I've got a 120 and it's serving me perfectly. Most games don't take more than a gig or so anyway, so it's easy to manage your memory. The beauty of the PS3 is that it can be opened up and a regular hard drive can be placed inside of it, so it's pretty cheap and easy to upgrade if you really need to.

Yeah. I'm sick of it. But I never said to get a 20. It's not even a option at this point. But I manage with it. So, I'll get a 120 eventually. Like in a few months.

250GB. There are better deals with the 250GB. Generally speaking you get three games with the console instead of two, and you get a hot title like Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed or even Play TV. So you essentially buy the new game and get a free 130GB of space.

I'd say that's worth it.

The extra 50 bucks the 250gb cost is worth it since it is hard to find a 2.5 inch hd at that price. For the people who are asking how much dlc do you need the playstation is a nice little media center you can buy to own movies off of psn or you can copy video from a computer and the copy speeds are not that bad.I just passed about 10gigs video, pictures and music in about ten minutes to my ps3 with a 320gb hd.

I went for the 250 and never looked back. You'll always have it in the back of your mind if you get the 120.

You really only need the 120gb PS3. I have had my 80gb almost since launch, and I haven't had any problems with memory yet.

One thing to keep in mind is that most PS3 games install to your hard drive, so that could potentially take up alot of space. Some games take as much as 5 gigs. I would say just wait and get the 250, better safe than sorry!

My 80 gb has done me very well, so it is just a matter of if you think you'll need it. I doubt you really will, but it is better to regret having too much than to regret not having enough (except for things that could kill you, like radiation).

120. When (if) that runs out in a year or two, get a terrabyte.

not really, you can find them for around $50 (find a sale and you can find one for $40), but a 320 will only run you about $10 more.

the ONLY 1tb 2.5" sata hard drives cost over $10k because they are ALL enterprise ssd's. the highest your going to find is 640gb, though several companies are working on 750gb hdd.

go for the 120. ive got a 320 in mine and have only used up around 70gb in 2 years. if you ever need more space then by the time youll need it 500gb hdds will be MUCH cheaper then they are today.
