Console Exclusives can be bad or get. My friends and I sat down one day to find out what really could happen if almost all Ps3 and 360 exclusives were released on both consoles.

For example, we took Resistance 2 and Halo 3. I owned a PS3 my friend owned a 360 we made diagrams of button mappings that are almost identical to each system.

So what do you think? If contracts and company restraints didn't matter, would you like to see exclusives games available, and if so, what games.

Think about the positives for the industry: compatible online play, greater sales, and larger fan base. A few negatives might be that production costs would go up and console sales down because of lack of exclusives.

This is in response to "if halo 3 came to PS3, would you buy it?"

I would like to see a few PS3 games move over, like MGS4 and LBP...but really thats all. Most games that have come out for the PS3 don't really peak my interest at all.

I don't think console sales would drop, but be more evenly spread.

you choice wouldn't be 'which games do i want to play' but 'which console suits me better'

a shiny black monolith, or a little white box with lights on it.

If games were avaible to both consoles doesnt it defeat the purpose of have diferent consoles? Like the Wii has its catalog based on X games. The 360 on Y games. And PS3 on Z games.

If theres was no console exclusives there would only be one console and the world would be a better place.

It's a far off dream to have one and only one universal game system. I don't believe that will ever happen. But it would make the decision when you're standing in Best Buy alot easier.

I think with the reputation of the PS3 having no [good] exclusive games, I think it'd be pretty stupid if PS3 exclusives went over to 360. 360 exclusives going to Ps3, not so much, but it would depend on what games would go across.

So, basically I don't want any exclusives to go anywhere, but I really don't care all that much. Exclusives define the console and they help promote some healthy competition. BUT it ticks me off when I see people yelling around saying the "PS3 has no [good] games!" but then they turn around and beg for MGS4 or LBP to be on their system when they've said that there arn't any games for it!!

GOD! Hypocrites...

I want to see exclusive because in my experience thus far of cross platform games PS3 ports tend to be worse than their 360 counter part.

PS3 only games Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2, Resistance 1 & 2, look brilliant, however their story lines and in some cases game play and fun factor need some tuning up.

Exclusives make the console. Otherwise we just have a computer with varying specs.

Yes and heres why. I have a PS3, and have never looked back on that £425 I shelled out on day 1, its a great system. There are 2 games I can think of I want on the PS3 from the 360, L4D, and DR. However this bears (edit: or bares if you like, its 1:18am) little in my decision. The factor that made me want multi-platform releases is to bring developers more money. In the current economy devs cant afford to be holding back for their preferred console, they need to release multiplatform or risk going bust. I don't like to say it, but if that means 360 gets Ratchet and Clank too so be it, I have too much respect for the excellent work Insomniac does to see them crippled because of exclusivity. I won't hide behind a veil of false neutrality, my preferred console IS the PS3 and as far as I am concerned it is the better console. All consoles have there positive traits but I feel the future lies in the technology PS3 presents. However if a game can be brought out on all platforms without comprisining the experiance or restricting what each platform gets, therby alienating some of its audience (I'm looking at you Bethesda) then it should be so, for the sake of gaming as a whole. Also I would dearly like to see MGS4 on the 360, if it could at all be done (compressing the videos / textures and getting those cutting shears to the less vital parts of the cut scenes), for the sake of what Hideo Kojima said about real games (non casual) dying out if developers see risky titles being shot down in the charts in favour of family friendly fitness "games". Bah.

So for the sake of the devs back pocket and maybe so I can play some zombie slaying fun on my black colossus, multiplatform should be supported wherever possible.

Hate to sound like a downer, but if there was only one console then there would be no competition and the super console would be super expensive.

Can I ask for 360 and PS3 games to go to the PS2? I know that sounds silly, but I don't honestly have the money to blow on a shiney new console, but if I did I'd probably get a 360. The Wii is by and large rather disappointing, although most of the games I own aren't bad, but it was definitely a let down in the WiiWare and VC section. I expected better selections.

Anyways, I love my PS2, and was glad that Sonic Unleashed and a few other games went to it. Games I was interested in, but didn't wanna play on the Wii due to oft-times clumsy controls. Thank gods I have a PC, or I wouldn't even be able to play stuff like Orange Box or BioShock.

So yeah, I grew up in an age which was constantly divided by Atari, Sega, and Nintendo (later Atari dropped out) so I was always sad that I had to choose only one console and miss out on great games like Phantasy Star or Shining Sword until later. It would have made things a lot nicer, and easier. I miss the day when most of the "console exclusives" were only games made by the console's company (or parties related.. like Rare on the N64). It would be nice.. but I don't think it's gonna happen, sadly. Not anytime soon.

I really wouldnt want the exclusives going crossplatform. Because they cater to what the core consumer of the console want.

For example,
360: Has alot of shooting-type games with big men in 3-inch titanium armor.(Halo, Gears Of War)
PS3: Very pretty games with complex mechanics (to justify us paying 600$ -_-) (i.e. MGS4, Little Big Planet)

But most games now are cross-platform anyways so why complain, just buy the console with the games you want more and dont complain about the other console.(because im watching you)

Maybe.....but there would be no console wars or "PS3 games are better cause they are in the PS3!" "No they arent thats exactly wwhy the shit Xbox360>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>shit>>>>>>PS3!!ONE!1!1" or even "Hi, my name is Shigeru Miyamoto and I make rivers of money by beating dead horses and making super causal games, with my console that doesnt have Blu-Ray, hard drivers or very expensive hardware!! Remenber to buy the new Zelda game!!!!."

That's true, you know. It's how capitalism works. You have several consoles, they have to best the others in order to make money, so they will try to find a place to excel in, and they'll be good at it. You have one console, they can charge however much they want and make it ultra crappy and you'll have no choice but to buy it... well, it can't be that much more expensive or that crappy because otherwise some other company would come up and start a new console, but it would still probably be worse.

Me, I'd like the utopian world in which all games are multiplataform. I own a 360 and every so often I find out a game I'm playing is an exclusive, and I'm like "cool!" but I'm quite sure that if I had a PS3 I'd feel the same way (except I would have a top hat and a monocle, bad joke lol).

I dont care since I have a good PC, a 360 and a PS3. For consoles I try to get the 360 version of the game since it usually seems to have a bit more polish. Plus my friends are all 360 fanboys so I can chat while playing, much more convenient. In my group of friends im the only person I know who has a PS3 or even knows anything about PS3s. Funny how my 360 friends dont know what KZ2 is..

I still think the idea for a standardized DVD-esque game player system would be a better idea than this mess of a deal we have now.
