Do you think it should be fixed? Inviting friends is a pain and navigating the store is as fun as pulling out your own teeth. XMB is not well suited for the PS3. Too bad microsoft stole the blade and avatar idea from Wii before Sony could

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. This was Sony's first kick at the can when it came to an online social networking system... and they failed... badly...

So, yes... they should fix it.

So you have a PS3 but your bitching about the menu's not being as good as an Xbox or Wii menu.

Go buy yourself the Ritz if you want slick flashy menu's.

I've been using the PS3 since it came out and the XMB has never been a problem, same from the PSP

I'm confused, you seem to be a sony fanboy ripping on : SOny, for having bad menus, Microsoft, for stealing an idea before Sony could, and Nintendo for coming up with it first.

I thought XMB was a lot easier to get around in, when you're navigating your XMB options the whole screen is navigation and icons. When you're configuring something or doing something the whole screen is whatever you're doing. The one thing I don't like is the friends list... I need to know, in order:
1. who of my friends are online with the same game I'm playing.
2. who else is online and what are they playing, in case I want to join.
3. everyone else
Straight-line lists are BAD. Most of XMB and sony's store has at 2-dimensional navigation and categories and stuff, the friend-list is a product of the stone age in comparison.

What I've seen of 360 (demo kiosks and my brother's the few times he's fired it up) looks like it has tab-based navigation cramped into each side of the screen in order to keep a presentation area on display all the time. I didn't like it at all, it takes a lot of looking around the screen and reading to try and figure out how to do anything.

I love the XMB. Everything is right where it should be (except for the PlayStation Store links now being everywhere). On Xbox, everything is built around Live, so if you don't have it your entire menu is a bunch of orange boxes saying "Get Live", whereas a PS3 looks functional with or without PSN connection.
Can't say I have a problem with the store either, it's way better than it used to be.

I've got a PS3 and I'll admit that the PSN is not as good as Xbox live, but it's also free. Everything else about the menu is fine, I don't see you're problem.

XMB is irritating only when certain items that should be under one menu are under another. I prefer he Xbox Dashboard, but have no issues with the XMB

Something User Interface, basicaly how you navigate through the options.

Yeah I hated it too when I had a PS3, took me a long time to figure out how to simply delete a message, but what is worse is that I never found how to delete my User account and clear my email off the auto sign-in screen since I sold it to someone else.

wait... OH! for a second I thought you just had a stupid way of spelling Guy. Haha. GUI! I get it now. Um, i dno, never touched the stuff but Id' say everything needs to be improved.

And for the other slow guys out there, "Graphic User Interface" I'm pretty sure. The window you're using now is a GUI

If that happened to me I'd be pissed, is something wrong with your PS3's connectivity ?
No, its my **** grandmother's bullshit firewalls and protection services on her computer that won't let me use it.

She thinks everything and everyone is out to get her so she has about 20 firewalls and protection services on her computer.

The thing is, they're all spam and smit fraud. Like the stuff you see when you click on a page and will instantly say "YOUR COMPUTER IS AT RISK OF INFECTION BUY NOW!!!!"

That kind of stuff is all over her computer and crashed my last laptop, so I don't want that anywhere near my PS3
